i found this really interesting and it works really well.
have a look.

Synonym Search :

You may want to search not only for a particular keyword, but also for its synonyms. Indicate a search for both by placing the tilde sign ("~") immediately in front of the keyword. Extremely useful!

Calculator :

Google has added a calculator and converter to its standard search form. Just enter what you need calculated or converted, click on search, and it'll automatically display the results. Very cool and useful! Try 24 degrees centigrade in fahrenheit or 24 miles in kilometers or 17 in binary or (G * mass of earth) / (radius of earth ^ 2) !

Prefixes :

link:url Shows other pages with links to that url.

related: Invokes GoogleScout to find other pages similar in linkage patterns to the given URL and at a similar hierarchical level. The URL must be exact. In other works related:notess.com and related:www.notess.com find different results.

site:domain restricts search results to the given domain.

allinurl: shows only pages with all terms in the url.

inurl: like allinurl, but only for the next query word.

allintitle: shows only results with terms in title.

intitle: similar to allintitle, but only for the next word. "intitle:webmasterworld google" finds only pages with webmasterworld in the title, and google anywhere on the page.

cache:url will show the Google version of the passed url.

info:url will show a page containing links to related searches, backlinks, and pages containing the url. This is the same as typing the url into the search box.

spell: will spell check your query and search for it.

stocks: will lookup the search query in a stock index.

filetype: will restrict searches to that filetype. "-filetype:doc" to remove Microsoft word files. "filetype:pdf" to search only pdf files.

daterange: is supported in Julian date format only. 2452384 is an example of a Julian date.

maps: If you enter a street address, a link to Yahoo Maps and to MapBlast will be presented.

phone: enter anything that looks like a phone number to have a name and address displayed. Same is true for something that looks like an address (include a name and zip code)

phonebook: followed by the last name and two-letter state abbreviation in the Google search field.

rphonebook: you will get only residential listings.

bphonebook: you'll get only business listings

site:www.somesite.net "+www.somesite.+net"

allintext: searches only within text of pages, but not in the links or page title

allinlinks: searches only within links, not text or title

date:<direction>:<mode>:<format>
<direction> A Sort results in ascending date order, D Sort results in descending date order
<mode> S Sort relevant results. Google's algorithm will determine a subset of the most relevant results from the set of all results, and then sort that subset by date to return as results for the search request. R Sort all results Note: Providing sort by date on queries with large result sets may incur performance penalties. L Perform a look-up on the date associated with each document and return the date information for each result returned; but no sorting is performed.
<format> d1 The format of the value returned for each search result returned is set to YYYY-MM-DD)

allinanchor: Finds pages that have the term(s) somewhere in the links to the page

[To parent directory] example will find directories example.

I knew a few of those. Thanks for posting all the others. I thought the Weapons of Mass Destruction one was pretty funny.
