View Full Version : Cool place to go
Today we went to the Cheltenham Badlands which are north of Brampton. If you get a chance you should really check this place out. It was beautiful there today and I would guess it would be a great place for some herping although I saw nothing so maybe I am wrong. lol. Then again I didn't really look for herps. Anyways check it out if you are in Ontario and haven't gone there yet. Great trails too.

you were 10 minutes from my house and you didnt even stop by?? or is THAT what that tapping at my window was??? Honestly though, that is really like 10 minutes from my house.. Its an awesome site huh??? Did you take a trip over to the Forks Of The Credit???
HAHAHAHA
You know what? I was SOOOOOO saying to my matt "Matt from ssnakess.com lives near here I think, lets go tap on his window" lol
I didn't realize you were that close to this location though. And no we didn't go to the Forks of The Credit....we just went to this place to take the dog somewhere to walk. It was awesome though. Next time we go I will have to give you a call or just tap. LOL....

LMAO, its awesome there.. The Bruce Trail runs right through there.. I've been there on quite a few occasions, but not lately.. Was it messy around there?? Beer bottles everywhere etc? The local teens and adults alike use it as their personal party place.. I cant remember the exact street that its on, but if you continue up the street a bit, you hit Mississauga road, that takes you to my backyard basically.. So yeah, you were VERY close..
Linds- Yeah totally a awesome place for Ontario. Its like a mini piece of somewhere far away just landed here in lame Ontario. LOL.
Matt_K- We did follow a bit of the trail around the place and saw where the Bruce trail picks up or something, just a couple clicks though. Not a long hike.
And actually there wasn't any garbage I could see! Now that I think about it, none. Maybe they had just done a clean up recently though. lol. the trail was very clean as well.

Looks nice, but if what you want is badlands, then you need to Dinosaur Provincial Park. Sure it may be a few thousand kilometres, but I'd say it's worth it. It's about 3 hours southeast of Calgary, and it's really amazing. I got there every summer (twice when it's possible) and it's always the highlight of the summer... err.. year. I've seen several rattlesnakes, caught a bullsnake, and caught and saw several wandering garter snakes. Plus it's always a good 4-7 degrees warmer than Calgary :). And it's always a blast since I go with my best friends. There's a little creek that we hike up for about half an hour, then inflate our little air mattresses, and float down for 1.5-2 hours. I can't say enough good things about it.

Wow, that looks like a pretty neat place to check out. One of these days I'm sure I'll fly to Ontario and check it out. :)
