Oh, don't worry, we K-W people are still safe from snow for quite a while.....

We all know the 4 season in Canada are
Almost Winter,
Winter,
Still Winter, and...
Construction.

Trying to navigate the street detours here in Kitchener-Waterloo tells me we're still in the dog-days of Construction, not even close to approaching Almost Winter. Trying to drive down King Street or the Connestoga Parkway suggests it will be a long long time before the first snowfall hits the Twin Cities..... if ever again :)

Wow!!!! That is so cool that it's snowing this early in the year. I grew up in New Jersey used to live for the snow (skiing). It was 90 and humid here yesterday. I wish I was there for the snow.

Ok folks... something you have to understand about Calgary. This snow does NOT mean winter is here for us. We're a mountain town. All we need is 1 low pressure zone over the city, and 1 high pressure zone in the north, we get an arctic ridge, and BAM! 10 feet of snow. The very next day, we'll be back to shorts and t-shirts. The forecast has changed a bit. It will be 19 on Friday, not 22. But still, VERY nice weather. For all of you coming here for the show, it will be like nothing ever happened in the sky. :)

Ah & all you folks that don't know what its like around here. A week & a 1/2 ago it was 32 celcius here (thats over 90F y'all). This is the type of flucuation that we are forced to deal with sometimes weekly LOL (even though not funny!). Like Invicus said its supposed to be nice for the weekend. Don't let any of those west coast pussys (like Jeff F. LOL) scare ya away from the Calgary show. The snow is Mother Natures way of showing us she is ready for a Reptile Show. Afterall it wouldn't be a Calgary show if we didn't get snow the week of it. LOL I can see blue sky out there now so all we need is for the Sun to crank it up & it will be 20 C again, but for how long LOL Mark I.
P.S. the rain & snow was actually a GODSEND to put out all of our nasty forest fires finally. I bet Tim & Julie B. are loving the weather as should all of the people in the fire zones.

Well, that’s bad. Now the Americans are really going to think that we have snow all year round and that we live in igloos… But here in Montreal it still pretty hot, it’s about 23 C or 73 F. For us Canadian, there is nothing special about it since we all know that we have a big country with deferent climates. Let me make a comparison for my American friends, if there’s snow in Vermont that doesn’t mean there’s snow down in Florida…

But I’m still going to get my dog sled ready just in case…

Geez it's been into the 80's and 90's here (like 26-32C) :D

I think they said something about triple digits coming up again, which we just got over less than a week ago.

I wish it snowed here PERIOD. We have to drive 2 hours for snow. Hardly even any rain for the past few winters :(

Yeah, the thing about Calgary is that you can experience all four seasons in the span of a week. I'm sure this'll be gone by the weekend. *L* :D

Ewwwwwwwwww... that's horrible! I'm still toodling around in a tank top and we're having a garage sale the next few weekends... perish the though of the ****. I don't like to think about it, I don't like to see it, I don't like to know it even exists... anything below 80 gives me goosebumps :(

I remember a few Christmasses ago we were eating lunch outside because it was 23C, and I'm pretty sure it was 28C on New Year's, 7 days later. Calgary weather is crazy!

Mike

Oh, and usually we don't get winter until February-March. The heavy snowfalls are March-April, and we had snow until June this year.

I am with Linds on this one. I don't want to think about another Canadian winter.

Its soooo hard going from 20 years of California weather to dealing with Canadian winters. Its sooooooo depressing. The thought of snow, well actually the temps that come with it, actually makes my stomach curdle.

well i dont mind it so much when i can sit in my house and do nothing.
But i hate it when i have to work, because that means i have to work outside in it all day, no matter if its -5 or -50.

Mark you have know idea when we got a substancial rain for the first time in three months we thought we hit the lottery. It is comferting not haveing a massive fire behind your house. :D Can't wait to see everyone this weekend. Snow or no snow! Might have to sell a kidney for one of those lavenders though! ;) TB

Well the snow has almost melted in my backyard already. It looks like it's going to be a great weekend for a reptile show.
