Each & every one of my snakes has it's own personality. I love 'em all in different ways. I agree, they are just like kids... Sometimes a pain in the A$$, but you just gotta love 'em. :)

All my snakes have the same personality. They eat , sleep, sh*t, and shed. Surprisingly, they all have the same expression on their face too.
All my animals are my babies...:)....and I think all my reptiles have their own personalities....call it temperament or whatever ya like, they are very distinct in behaviour, including same species. I try to accomodate their 'personalities'...ex: ones that like to hide all the time get a more secluded area of the room...ones that are curious busy bodies get to roam around outside of their tanks.

Characteristics, personality, whatever... I have 3 corns that behave in 3 completely different ways, and often respond differently to the same stimuli. Call it whatever you wish.
I love my reptiles like they were my children. RedDragon and I always refer to them as our "kids".

I guess I should have put it as the way I see them. I enjoy spending time with my animals and the over all aspect of the hobby but I don't have any personal love for them.
Mine all have a distinct personality. It's impossible for me to think of them as just pets.

All of our animals/reptiles are reffered to as "the kids"........:) I don't know what I would do if something happened to one of them!
When I go into my snake room and turn off the lights and light a candle and sit naked on the floor and start to whisper to the snakes.... they do look at me funny....lol
No really... I find that they do have somewhat of personality traits and I do love them, but I TRY not to anthromophorsize(give them human feeling and such), if I do they tend to bite me. They are Reptiles and are different from Mammals and that is also a good thing in the overall script and scheme of things....
i spend more time with my reptiles than i do with my family
Haha ya I spend way more time with my reptiles than my family too. Mainly *because* I have the reptiles though... I'm the weird one in the family who has LIZARDS and listens to HEAVY METAL lol.
My reptile is my family to me also it is hard for some members of the family to except her though

To make a long story short. Reptiles don't have personalities.
They are traits, characteristics and instinct. It's a reptile.

Ahh, welcome fellow weirdo. :D
Yup, the snakes are our kids.
Don't know whether you'd call it personality, but they all behave differently.
I was just saying the other night that our first cornsnake was my 'first love', and is my special baby. His face was quite close to mine, and I looked into his beady black eyes, searching for some mutual understanding, not matter how basic... and then he pooped all over me!
That'll teach me!!! When will I ever learn???
Intent expression = poop!!! Irrefutable truth!!! LOL!!!

i love all my reps for diff reasons. If i wanna play with one that wont stop moving it would be my uro's, if i wanna get bittin its my tegu :p , if i wanna just chill watch tv and play with on it'd be my snake or tort. And if they are all sleeping i can always count on my leopard to be out and about. I love them all soo much and my life revolves around them. Im always thinking about when i fed them, if i have to do maintence on the tanks..EVERYTHING. And i deffinetly hand around with them more than my famaily because i can say whatever i want and i know they wont tell anyone :D Dun know what id do with out em/
ok i have only owned snakes once for a short times. The snake didnt seem to have much of a personality. Then i got anoles no presonality then i got a water dragon you beter believe these guys have personality's. I have a question about snakes are they as smart as lizards? The komodo dragon is practically as smart as a dog.
Also Can you do this with snakes can you just let them roam your house my water dragon had to live in my house for 4 days no cage i made sure she was healthy though. She had the time of her life she climbs in the fake tree spends half the day in there goes areound the house looking for water i left a pan of water by my couch where she would drink from. Then she would climb up the curtains and sleep. I saw a show where a guy had his snakes live in his house practically do you guys do this with your lizards and snakes?

I predict your WD will be dead by the end of the year if you continue to non-house it like that.
hmm lol it wont. the only reason the 4 day thing happend is i had no cage for 4 days id either have to keep her out of her cage or get rid of her and i love her the reason my cage was gone my mom took it she was mad i wouldnt let go of her for a 4 day thing.
lol and she got healthy had lots of excercise.

You gotta love your herps to crawl out of bed at 4:00 in the morning to clean rat cages. Oh yeah, my family already disowned me, so the answer to the question is Yes...I do love my snakes, and yes, they do have different personalities and yes, they are my kids. I even love it when I get "chewed on" by one of the kings.
Off I go to feed more babies. Have a great day.

well this what I got from what you said just correct me if I am wrong ok.
your mom took the WD cage away becaus you were handeling it too much. or did she just take it away and you did not disclose why in your post.
any way what's done is done and we can't change that now.
Are snake as intelagent as lizards I am no pro but I find it rater funny that you compare a komodo dragon to a snake simply because the are both from the same reptile order witch is squamata.
Now if you compare a retic to a komodo you will see that they are bothe equaly intelagent and a retic dos hav a charactor you beter belive dont stand in the line of fire for one of them or you will see just how personal they can get. LOL
ok my mom took my cage away becuase i was being a bad boy

Ummm that's a bit ignorant. She expects the animals health and safety to be compromised because you were a "bad boy"?
LOL! xxbad don't you know to listen to yo momma?!?! And it seems like it's not a problem, just let him run around the house you've done it before...

i definitely consider huxley as my little baby boy...i'm excited to see him grow up, and I only want the best for him. It's funny, because people ask me if I'm going to buy him a girl snake to breed with, and my response is usually, "Oh no! He's way too young to be thinking about that!!" hahaha.
