View Full Version : fasting
one of my leos is fasting and has been fasting for maybe 2-3 weeks! she ignores the worms and crix.. she lives alone in a 10 gallon (she's a juvie) and she couldnt be gravid cause she's only about 6.5 inches.. the strange thing is that her tail hasnt gotten any smaller.. if someone didnt know bout her not eating they'd say she looks pretty darn healthy. she cant be impacted cause she's on paper towel. should i worry?

Leos will often go on hunger strikes -- but not eating can also be a sign of illness. What I would do is take in a fecal to the vet -- if it comes back clean, you probably don't have anything to worry about... but it's better to be safe than sorry. If there IS an underlying problem causing her lack of appetite, it's best to catch it as soon as possible....

i agree with clownfishie..dont take anychances and get the leo checked before its to late to fix the problem if there is one. Hope nothin is wrong. good luck with ur leo!
Would also be good to check and see if you have made any changes to her setup. Temps, humidity etc.
wow 2-3 weeks? its vet time man. you can also try an appetite stimulator its a liquid, many petstores carry them, they work great.
didnt someone here have a leo that fasted for like 8 months? just curious..
