well.. ..

last night... my regius, gina.. was watching tv with me.. ( I know they dont watch tv.. but if you put sport on she keeps on watching... silly :P ) anyhow.. I noticed how long she is.. so.. curious as I am.. I took out a tape and started mesuring... she was 97 cm        thats around 38 inch I think...

the thing is she is 4 months... well almost 5 ( in a few days)
and I was wondering... well is this normal?

she doesnt get an awfull lot of food.. only 1 adult mouse/rat ( smallish.. weight is 43 gram ) every 6 / 7 days

so.. is it possible that she first grows in lenght and then starts putting on some weight.. ??

She's a very big girl for her age! The prey item sounds a bit small though, hatchling bp can often take small adult mice. Some snakes do grow like crazy, its in their blood. As well as they grow like any other animal, they shoot out, then bulk up, then shoot out, then bulk up ;)

She sounds like she is going to be a big BP!!!!! Diff snakes, diff ages, different sizes. All bp's range. My male was about a1 1/2 feet when he was 4 months......my female is about 5 months and she is 2 ft2 inches...Try her on small/medium rats....my male bp is 39-42 inches (99Centimeters-106Centimeters) and he just started taking med rats about 1 month ago, and we are going to try him on a large ratin about 2 weeks..........so definitly UP the prey size......!!!!!

my male just turned four months old today, and he measures in at 18 inches also. Sounds like a huge girl ya got there. I'd definitely get her on larger rats.

Wow, she's one big girl for her age! My female is just 36 inches and she's 1 1/2 yrs. How long was she when you got her?

she was around 40 cm and 2 months of age.. I tried small rats and she takes them fine.. but then a few days later she... ehm whats the word... well she spits them out... so I kinda take it they are still a bit 2 large for her... so I went back to very large mouse ( 45 gram )and she keeps thoose is perfectly... she wont take 2 after each other and wont eat more then one in 6 days.. so...:S she isnt fat though... not thin eighter... she has just chosen to grow in lenght firt I quess... i was just a bit worried it wasnt that good... she more then doubled her lenght in 2 months... she's in shed again so we'll see

but thx for the answers

One of my younger BPs is doing the same...growing very rapidly in her length...kind of odd, but Ive noticed BPs tend to fatten out as their little (length) growth spurts slow down.
