Lobster for Leos.......

..........Lobster roaches, that is.

I got some of them a few days ago, and thought I'd check to see how well they went over with the leopards before I raised too many (no use raising hundreds if no one eats them). The leopards went nuts!!! They even left the waxworms in the dish and went for the roaches instead. I guess that's enough indication of whether or not to raise them. :) (They rate very high on the chameleon menu too).

It's on your finger... *shudder* roaches are the only thing that make me squeamish. Have you given any to your leachie yet? (it's even cooler than watching them eat pinks) ;)

I used to keep a lobster roach colony and thought they were the best staple around. But I have to admit I never quite got over my squeamishness and always used gloves when handling them.

When my allergist said the wastes from my roach, cricket and superworm colonies were aggravating my asthma too much I didn't really miss the roaches but the critters sure did!

Thats cool that your leos like them. Try to let us know how the breeding goes and how well your leos tend to be with them. Good luck!!!

i can handle alot but roaches i can not. I would never sleep of fear they escaped and would be crawling in my bed with me. I remember the first time i brought home 2 hissing roaches for my beardies i wouldn't touch the bag i made my boyfriend. ewww there so creepy. I guess if i had a fear it would be roaches!!!
