Thanks.
The turtle was in an aquarium and I used a Nikon D100 with a off body flash.
Nice musk! Whereabouts are you from, John? I can never find any musks around here :(

Here in Virginia musk turtles are fairly common.

Thanks.
My musk turtles rarely leave the water. Here's my other musk turtle, a Stripe-necked Musk Turtle (Sternotherus minor peltifer)

Stop doing that... musks are many other species are easily attainable in the US, but not us folks in Canada. So we'll have to droooooool over your pics. Thanks.
Cheers,
JJ;)
I hear ya, JJ. We're turtle-deprived canadians here....:(
Nice pics, though :)

Since his post was brought up again... I like to add, anyone have any musks available in Canada? I'd love to get a musk (Sternotherus spp), any kind.
I had a Razorback before I moved, but I had to leave it behind. I miss these little bottom walkers.
Cheers,
JJ;)
