Wow... I just got some superworms for the first time and do they ever bite!!

Has anyone ever had problems with them biting or injuring their herps?

It gave me a damn good pinch and I have tougher skin than most herps do.

In all my years of playing with superworms I have never been bitten by one (lol... and between my old job at a reptile store and maintaining my own collection I've had my hands in quite a few!). They grab on to me with their legs when I pick them and that gives a light pinch but never been bitten, nor have my herps. Most my herps and warm'n'fuzzy guys have to put up with is when they pick them up they usually get wacked in the side of the head when the worms are flailing around. But geez...those things have some crazy teeth... they will easily chew right through the lid of a film container

The first time i bought them. I took one out of the paper bag they came in, and the little thing bit me. It actually kinda hurt. Then i left a few in the bag (luckly i had them over one of my cages) cause they chewed right through the bag. My leos were sitting there waiting for them to fall, they would pick them off one by one. After that they go into the critter keeper and get handled with tongs.

Could someone please post a pic of a superworm? I would like to see what they look like/how big they are.

Thanks

Dave

The trick is to keep your mouth closed and squint your eyes.
