View Full Version : My Volcano once again...
He's one week shy of being 2 months old and he's already 15 inches!!! I've been keeping him on a feeding regimen of one fuzzie every 4 days and he's almost big enough for large fuzzies/smal hopper mice!
You can sort of see his red coming into his background already. He's had one shed with me so far.

Not quite as simple as that, but since you may be speaking from a lack of knowledge on this particular cultivar I will enlighten you Click Here (http://www.thereptilerainforest.com/Volcanocorn.html) .

Cool so it's basically a corn local then...thanks for the link!
No BW not just another case where it's someone who is an idiot and buys from a breeder they know nothing about LOL!!
I am personal friends with the man who owns The Reptile Rainforest. They are a normal with extremely enhanced red and a fluorescent orange belly, just like an Okeetee is a normal corn with beefed up colours and blotch boarders.
I feel that even though they are a version of normals, they deserve to have their own name because of their adult appearance and irregularities.

I keep seeing ppl say normal corn, when to me it looks like a great plains rat snake, i thought all "normal" corns where (red rat snakes) and much like the one above, not dark brown like the plains rat snake.
Also i read that the reason you can get anertristic corns is not because corns where bred to plains, but because the corn evolved in captivity to be camoflarged on newspaper??

I am absolutely dying to know where you read that. That has got to be one of the silliest things I have ever heard in my life.
KingFfaj, that is an incredibly silly statement. Corns have been kept in captivity massively for how long now, 20,30 years? Firstly, othing on earth can evolve that quickly and secondly, Anery corns naturally occur in the wild as far as I am aware, which would make the statement about them evolving to camouflage in with newspaper very false. Thirdly, you do not get anerythristics by crossbreeding with a great plains rat snake, as far as I am aware, anerythristic corns are pure corns.
