I have a baby leo, about 4 weeks old and 10 days in his new home. He will sleep all day of course in his hide and only go out if no one is in the room and after the light is out. If I leave a dish or mealworm, he won't be eating, all mealworm are still there the next morning; if I put crickets or mealworm in front of him during midnight, he runs back to his hide and will not go out any more and probably sleep all night.
I really wonder when you guys feed your leo? I didn't find any info from any care sheet. Since leo is noctural, he will only go out in the night, everyone feed him only in midnight??!!
I am really confused and worried, please help!

(My temp is 85-86 at warm side and 80 at cooler side, 20g tank with 3 hides, which seems setup are all good)

hey, honestly to tell you the truth most reptiles don't care when they're fed,all of my leo's will eat night or day doesn't really matter to them,10 days seems like an adquate time to adjust to a new home, and your set-up sounds perfect,if you wanna see him eat just take out everything in the tank so the crickets have no-where's to hide,is he eating at all??if he is then what ever your doing is just fine, some leo's wont eat mealies, but you hafta make sure his food items aren't to big(lol, one can only assume you aren't trying to feed the little guy crickets that are half his size )if he isn't eating after all that you could try and force feed him or possibly feed him chicken baby food through a syringe (i'm not sure if this is a good idea or not, poersonally i haven't tryed it but i think i read it somewhere, don't try it though until someone else in here gives you the heads up)but if your not comfortable with that or his condition declines(don't wait until it's almost to late though)take him to the vet,he might be dehydrated and if they getsa certain type of fluids injected into there adomen in can do wonders for the sick

Mine will try to eat any time of the day if they are hungry but they are nocturnal so their vision is better at night. I feed mine around 10 pm usually. Although sometimes have gotten strong feeding responses in the mornings just before their day light comes on.

I feed mine usually in the morning...

What I do is put about 10 - 15 mealies in a dish and put a few crickets in and they're gone within 24 hours....

It could be a couple different reasons. Has it shed yet? Babies won't eat until their first shed. And make sure your temps are right so that it can digest food properly.

Your temps sound a little bit low. Put the hot side up to 92 and the cool side around 85. Also like it has been already stated it doesn't really matter what time they get fed.

Well, he did eat twice. The first time was the first day I brought him home, he ate 2 small mealworms, which I thought he is ok. The second time is 2 days later, while he was in moist box before shedding(I don't know if it's first shedding, I doubt it is), he took 4 crixs. And that's it, after then, he won't eat any. Today I tried it in a saperate tank, I have crickets, mealworms and waxworm, all proper sized in it, he don't even look at them, just try to jump out...after 1 hour, I gave up and returned him to his home...it's so difficult...sigh...

I bought a leucistic leapord gecko in july, and he ate 10 pinheads the day i got him. He didn't appear to eat much for about 2 weeks, and then started eating again. At first he was afraid of mealworms, but then after a few days he started getting brave and tried one and like it, lol. Then he gulped the rest down. Give him the smallest cricket you can, so he won't be intimidated. Another thing you might want to do, is get a small container with breathing holes in it for the crickets, and put about 4 or 5 in it. Then stick the thing in the freezer for maybe 2 minutes? Check back periodically, and when they start to get really sluggish take em out and dump em in. It will take them about 10 minutes to fully recover from the cold, and during that time they are clumbsy and vulnerable, and it may help your baby catch em better.
