any suggestions on what other species might go well with a pair of golden geckos?

I wouldn't suggest anything but Golden Geckos with Golden Geckos or white lined Geckos if you must, which are almost the same thing. But even still you have to be careful.

you have to remember geckos can be aggresive. I had two Goldens living in a HUGE set up but one, my Wee, got almost half his face ripped apart twice by his cagemate. It's really important to have different sexes if they will be living together, i.e. 1.1 geckos. And if you are housing them together they need room. More than normal.

I had a golden and skunk together and they made very good house mates. they were in a very large enclosure though. 2' x 2' x 3' high.

yes if you are keeping them together with anything they will need lots of room.

Here are some photos of my Golden and his cage:

wow, he's beautiful!! My bf has a red light on his, so you don't ever see their color. Is that bark as substrate?
He has 1.1 goldens, and used to also have 1.0 marbeled in with them. But the marbeled fell to the curiosity of the cat. (long story). Well, 2 years later, I wanted to set them up again in a really huge terrarium with some buddies. They are in a 33 gal tank now. Where do they come from and what would be natural geckos they might run into in nature?

I'm another that doesn't believe in mixing species, but if you had to the white line is probably the answer.

Marisa, that is the nicest looking goldie I've ever seen! I'm almost wondering if its a different sp. I've never seen that barring pattern on a golden gecko before, its gorgeous!

well, i wouldn't have mixed species if i had known about: the guy told me they were both goldens, lol. I ended up with a golden gecko and a marbled gecko. They get along just fine, don't harass eachother or anything. They are in a rather large enclosure with a flying gecko and a house gecko. To tell you the truth, i was afraid that they might fight or something, but as it turns out they all are doing great! They all get plenty to eat and drink, plenty of hides and things to climb on and i have a bunch of fake vines and stuff. I think it depends a lot on the individual gecko, just like it would depend on humans. Some people get along with others well, some don't. Same holds true for geckos. I would suggest that if you DO mix species, be sure to do it at the same time. Don't add anything to your golden gecko tank, if there are already goldens in there because the goldens may get territorial or something. I'll bet the reason mine get along well ist hat they all grew up together, lol.

Good point Mr.Gray,

Not to mention Golden Geckos, Marble Geckos and flying geckos are all closely related which makes them ideal for mixing. I wouldn't risk mixing others though.

Wuntu Menny- Thanks. I believe his wonderful coloring is from the variety of foods he gets. I think this makes a great differance for all herps.

This guy ate only baby food for a long time, like a year with another owner. He always looked like those Goldens you see in pet shops....purple, blah and bland. Started feeding him fresh cut fruit, baby food, crickets and moths and bam, he looks like this everyday now. I love him!

I would love to get him a female friend but I haven't found any worth buying yet. They are all so frail and sickly looking in the pet stores.

CB babies would be nice though, they are an underrated pet.
