I don't mind some of his songs, but I do know that Sylvester Stallone, love him or hate him is writing and directing a movie based on the death of Tupac and the scandals behind other rap artists deaths...as far as I know it'll be called Thugz Lives. Should be interesting?!

Ah, I dont like it. I was the lead protester who wrote in large letters (in snow haha) accross a large wall in the neighbourhood "Tupac is dead;Live with it" Lots of uprise since I live in a good neighbourhood located beside one of the worst. So many hispanics and so on were quite angry. Oh well, I dont enjoy rap so I cant say I like his music

I don't agree with "if wasn't killed no one would remember his name"

It may have been different here in Canada but I was raised in California and Tupac was a HUGE artist there. No one, even my parents, woud be able to forget his name. It's household there even people who don't like rap would remember.

Matt_K

I agree Marisa.. Its kind of hard to forget the name of an artist who made such an impact on the music industry. Its like people not remembering Flava Flav or Public Enemy as a whole, and they're still alive..

As a rapper he had a lot of talent. I respect his talent. As a person he was obviously not a role model or someone I think kids should look up to so I don't really respect him as a person.

red bootz
09-09-03, 10:31 AM
He had alot of talent not just as a rapper but as an artist. I think he went out of his way to personify what being poor and black in America was. By doing this he could gain credibility among his peers and get them to listen to what he was saying. Kinda like, you got a be a thug to to talk to one and get them to understand. Not all of his stuff was like "hit 'em up". Take the movie "Juice" for example. Its a movie about a basically good kid that due to forces around him goes nuts. I think that's part of the message he's trying to convey. That without changes in social structure, things are always going to be the same and that you're gonna keep turning out the same type of situation from the inner cities generation after generation.

they got a war on drugs so the police can bother me

My opinion is that he was a great rapper and he is still alive somewhere. I mean wtf there are 10 thousand things which make me believe this. First off, how is he wearing fashions that just came out in his music videos? LoL

Matt_K
09-09-03, 04:32 PM
are you talking about the video that he's wearing the Jordan's?? They were set to come out 3 months after the video was made.. But do you really think that people like him didnt have access to those things before the public did??

Honestly, I don't think I can have an opinion about him because I don't know ANYthing about him, or his music.... or rap music, for that matter.... But I do know this:

I don't like him because his rap was created for women to listen too!

That's a HORRIBLE thing to say! I'm not even an equality enthusiast, and that's just lame. Maybe that's joking or sarcastic or something.... or there's some kind of 'tupac..q?' inside joke there, but I don't get it if there is...

Oh sigh...

 Kate

PS - How come he's allowed to come back to life? That's not fair... :( I'm jealous.

Matt, that too but there was also one where he was wearing a recent basketball jersy or something in the line of that. If you want to get into a full discussion i can tell you all the reasons why I strongly feel he is alive.

tHeGiNo
09-09-03, 07:40 PM
Ok I am going to tell you why I think he is alive whether you want me to or not, lol. For the record, I am not a big rap enthusiast or a gangster or anything like that, lol. I like his style of rap, and only those similar to his today. By that I mean like 50, Snoop Dog, Enimem, then their whole crew. Thats about the only rap I listen to. Anyhow, to start with, and I am only going to mention this vaguely, information on the shooting was little to none. There were no hospital photos, no nothing to put it frankly. In a lot of songs as well, he mentions wanting to be buried. Then why is it that they say he was cremated? Possibly to hide the fact that there was no shooting causing him death? Oh and directly related, since when is a murder victim creamated the very next day with no autopsy or anything of the like? If that isn't bad enough, press wasn't going to be allowed at the 'funeral', but then the funeral was cancelled. The reason for it being cancelled still hasn't been determined. My last point about the actual shooting itself is the following: a shooting involving Snoop occured really close to the release of his album Doggystyle. After this of course he had that image of being real 'gangsta' and made him appear more 'real.' The shooting gave him respect because everyone that bought his album believed what he was talking about. Within one week of its release, Doggystyle went platnium. Snoop is signed to the same label as Tupac which is Death Row Records. Interesting don't you think? I mean it's really stupid, this was a big rap idol, yet there was no investigation, no suspects, no nothing. Oh, I know I said that was it as far as the shooting goes, but there was one last point: as you probably know, Tupac always wore his bulletproof vest. Wouldn't it be stupid to not wear one to a huge public event like a Tyson match? Oh and otherthing. The shooters were in a white Caddy. They were black. There is only a small black community on the North side of town. This strip is only about eight blocks long. Vegas is a freakin desert, where could they have gone? Where did they hide? I know I keep saying its the last thing but I keep remembering other things as I go on. Pacs car got hit 12 times. Twelve times yet Suge Knight (the producer of death row records) was not hit once. Oh wait I forgot, he was 'grazed' by a bullet.

Ok now enough about the actual shooting itself. Tupacs soon after released another album which he named Machiavelli. He was an Italian war strategist who fooled his enemys by faking his death. Coincidence? The producer on the new Makaveli album is simply named as "SIMON." This was the apostle who helped Jesus carry the cross and one of the first to witness his resurrection. Could Suge be SIMON? Inside the cover of 2Pac's newest album, it has written: "Exit: 2pac, Enter: Makaveli" as if 2pac has died and Makaveli born. And Matt, with reference to the MJ shoes, your right, however in the same video he is wearing Penny Hardaway sneakers which were not available at the time of his death! Ok so I am sure any 2Pac enthusiasts who are taking the time to read all this have seen the music video "Smile" by Scarface and Makaveli. The video beings by showing a car just like the one 2Pac got shot in, and the car of course has bullet holes in it! Then you hear garbled words and then they show Makaveli up posing as Jesus Christ again. That's twice! Once on the album and now in this video. Finally, my last point, there are many numerological coincidences. Tupac was gunned down exactly seven months after All Eyez On Me was released. The number seven keeps coming up throughout his albums and throughout the facts of his death. He was shot on September 7th and survived on 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, and died the 13th. This could explain the title of his new album.: "The Don Killuminati: The 7 day theory." Pac was 25. His age adds up to 7 (2 + 5). Even his time of death, 4:03, adds up to 7 (4 + 0 + 3). Also, on track five on the Makaveli album, the voice at the begining says "And if the Lord returns in the coming seven days, then we'll see ya next time." He even talks about the number 7 on his album! There are more 'coincidences' too. The album "R U Still Down?" was released on November 25th. 2 + 5 = 7. The 7 day theory continues! Honestly, what is with this? Las Vegas is a freakin payoff city. All sorts of people have been known to be on the take. This includes doctors, press, lawyers, witnesses, etc. Oh I forgot, there were no witnesses...

Music is all about perspective So Dont knock any of it besides those who are merely Hot chicks who lip sync.

Tupac Is one of the few Rap stars where is music isnt Purely about drugs and Killing people. Alot of it has a message to it mostly to women and about women unlike alot of the other idiots out there Imo.
He wasnt really popular untill after he died And most of the stuff Being put out now is his old stuff that wasnt good enough to be put out back then but whatever. He Did what he did well Music's inspiration comes from whats around you and your life and thast what he did and he did it well

Tupac was great but there was and will be greater but one thing i didnt like about him. When the west vs east war broke out he dissed anyone that was kickin it or seen tallking to biggie and puff. And when they wanted to settle the beaf they said no and kept on dissin. The man knew he was goin to die just listin to his music but when you lived the life he lived you either ended up in the grave or the cage. And to any of the rap haters ya can stop hatin and start respecting the art of hip hop. Nobody disses rock out of no where like that. If some one made a thread on metallica no one would say i dont like them cuz rock sucks. We all know why people dont like rap and its a really crapy reason not to like a type of music.

Its true, i've been there.
Please feel free to add to this list as i'm sure there are more living therethen i have listed (its a big place).

Also, just because you don't like a certain genre of music, that doesn't mean it sucks nor does it give you permission to say it does. Rather, it does not suit your preferences. A couple more things. First off, and what I meant to say, I do not know if you have some kind of super vision that I don't have but to me I can not make out that that is Pac in that picture. That could be any black guy as far as I am concerned. And a few more things to ponder in your head. I urge you to download the song God Bless the Dead, from 2pac of course. His very first words are "rest in peace to my mutha ****** biggie smalls..." Whats with that?

09-10-03, 04:10 PM
To say rap sucks isn't really all to nice. Some people live their lives to that genre of music, and just 'cause you dont like it, keep it to your self. We dont want to hear "YOU CANT SPELL CRAP WIHTOUT RAP" or any other things like that. If you dont like it, fine, I'm not here to preach, just dont speak of it, we didn't ask you if you liked it or not, and if you dont have anythin' logical to put down, then dont waste our time.

I am saying that autopsy picture isnt necessarily TuPac. It doesn't necessarily look like him and could be any black guy with the same body shape. Maybe the cops did hate him, but that does not justify everything else.

Matt_K
09-10-03, 04:30 PM
Gino: IM not saying he's alive or dead one way or the other.. There were 'autopsy' pics floating around, but as you said, they could be fake. As for the scareface video, it was made AFTER Tupac died, yet Tupac is in.. I was stating points for both sides :P

Also, just because you don't like a certain genre of music, that doesn't mean it sucks nor does it give you permission to say it does. So lets not argue over what kind of music is better then which, we'll be here for ever. Every genre of music influences the next..

His very first words are "rest in peace to my mutha ****** biggie smalls..." Whats with that?

Im not sure of your point there, are you saying he killed Biggie??? Its well known that Biggie and Tupac hated one another, there is no arguing that... But if you're saying that cause tupac started his song that way he was someway directly related to the death of biggie, you're wrong. That would just be stupid of him.. Eminem has a song that starts off 'this song is dedicated to the memory of Eric Shrodie'.. Does that mean that if Everlast (Eric Shrodie) turns up dead tomorrow, Em was the one that killed him???
