hi all i was wondering if sexing golden geckos is the same as sexing leos i have a girl frind that whants to no and i no how to sex a leo cus i breed them but i have no experince with goldens what so ever lol

if I am correct, golden geckos should be fairly similar in sexing as say vorax or banana geckos. Slightly fatter tail bases in males, hemi ***** bulges, V shaped pores more prominent than females, and over all slighter larger built bodies and heads.
Dont quote me on this, but just what is obvious in similar species.

Neo, no they are not, Golden Geckos are an aboreal species that are larger than leopards.

i saw a site selling a bannana gecko that also said "aka banana gecko"

I don't know of many Goldens that are larger than leopards! Biggest I have seen is around 8 inches....usually somewhat slender as well. Especially in the tail. Even my well fed golden who is spoiled rotten doesn't have nearly the girth of a leopard.

The sexing is basically the same. Males have a line of larger pores and the bulges like leopards. You can see their sex organs (on males) when they are on glass by placing a bright light behind them.

I have a golden gecko. I don't really know what ot tell you, since i havn't a clue what his sex really is. COuld be either, lol who knows. I always thougth banana geckos and golden geckos were the same. A web site was selling banana geckos with "aka golden geckos" next to it

Nope people mix the species up a lot. Banana Geckos real name is Gheyra Vorax, and that isnt even their latin name people just seem to say banana gecko. Golden Geckos are faaaar different looking and behaving from Vorax, although they are both quite fast and speedy is not tamed, G. Vorax i've heard can sometimes have the attitude of a Tokay with a nasty bite.
