I hatched this guy out about a 2 months ago from a banana to banana blizzard breeding.

He has a big black spot on his tail, really weird.

Check him out.

Wow that's strange! I have noticed that some patternless get odd single spots at the base of the tail. Strange how nature has a way of creeping back:D

A bliz we bought from teresa has a big black spot like that on her right hind leg. Looks like a little birth mark or a black freckle. I'm interested to see if any of her babies end up with spots as well.

Have you noticed black marks on any others?

That is so neat! I have a red stripe carrot tail that has a strange mark on the side of his face. When I first noticed it, day after I brought him home, I thought he hurt himself. But on closer examination found it to be sort of like a birth mark. lol It's much bigger than his other markings and nearly black where his spots are brownish. I thought it gave him character. :)

He comes from HQ btw and weighs in at 72 grams last weighing. :)

WOW thats one awesome little gecko! I'm wondering what a Banana or Banana Blizzard run for in American since I'm gonna be breeding leos in a few years

I have had 2 like that in the past but the mark was on its body.

I've got a couple of leos with birthmarks too :) My super hypo baldy carrot tail from Urban Gecko has an orange birthmark right behind one of her back legs... cute :) And one of the babies that I just hatched out (also a super hypo) has a black birthmark in basically the same spot...

Cool Banana though Dan! :)

I have no idea if it is genetic not that it really matters anyway. I have seen a few others out there on the forums I beleive Kelli Hammock had produced one like that as well. I think they just pop up occasionally.

I am going to keep him because he has actually turned out to be a really nice banana and may breed him to a patternless female next year and see what happens. Not going to devote too much time and space on it but I just want to know if they actually do carry the patternless gene since a produced those freaky little bananas awhile back from the same breeding group that had the purple spotting on them like the patternless.

I guess we will see what happens.
