my friend told me this is the smallest snake he knows of so im thinking of getting one because my parents dont like snakes at ALL so maybe if i get small one they wont mind :) anyways i was just wondering how big the kenyan sand boa gets full grown in length and also width. And do the females or males get smaller? Also if you have any pics that would be great :)
thanks in advance...

Generally the Males are smaller, I myself am actually thinking of getting a Male at the next expo I go to.
This is what I've read:
Females are generally larger reaching 26 to 32 inches and weighing up to two pounds. Some females have reached up to 40 inches in length. Males generally only reach 15 inches in length.
They CAN be kept in as small as a 10 Gallon tank, but I'm not one for bare minimum enclosures, so for my male I'm using AT LEAST a 15 gallon.

ok thanks and would you know the approx price i could find one at the show tomorrow?
Sand boas are definitely at the lower end of the spectrum in termos of size, but these guys are definitely not the smallest snake around. There are some snakes that are 5" and so, though not commonly kept in captivity. The avergae range is 1.5' - 3' in length. Females are much larger than the males are. Market price for neonate sand boas is $60. There will probably be some sandboas at the show tomorrow :)

I know that PCPC will have some at the show tomorrow. So you should ask Grant.

that is also for kenyans... other sp/morphs are quite a bit higher. If your looking to buy, try and get some that came from Roy, his orange ones are unbeleivabe!

If anything in the world will convince your parents to let you have a snake, it's a kenyan. Not only are the small, but they are the most docile snakes in the world. I hope your parents ok it, because I know you will enjoy having a kenyan.

Well, I'm easy to find. :) There are lots of people here who can give you great advice on Kenyans. But, they are so easy to keep, there's not much advice to be had, hehehe.

I hope it works! My approach was "I'll get a snake too big to fit under the door." Didn't work nearly as well as I hoped :p
Didn't see any for 60$, I must have missed them?

In the end when i was at the show it was a choice between the sand boa or a ball python and i decided to go with the ball because it was cheeper, my friend had one so he could show me some good pointers and tips, and they look cooler. Maybe in a year or so ill get a sand boa...WHO KNOWS :) thanks for the help anyways everyone...
