I know it may seem a touch large, but I am sure my neonate boa will grow into it one day soon...

Can you find the snake (lol)

Are you keeping him in that right away? I suggest you keep in a rubbermaid or something for a while, let him grow first.
And yeah, the water dish does look a bit large.

Zoe: the water tub is only a 33 L

V.hb: thats why the shovel is in there. just in case it burrows down a hole or somthing.

Yeah, you could probably go with a dog dish or something, 33L is pretty big.

Nice cage tho! You built it?

Great looking cage, although if it were ME, I'd probably throw in a divider since he's still small and when he grows, just take the divider out

I don't know, probably be nice to share the cage with a monitor or 3. :)

Zoe, Yes i did build it I will look into the dog dish to drink out of but It may want to bask in the water.

Thanks Jenn

Monitors eh, wont they eat the snake Lisa?

The cage is only 8'long x 3+ deep and 4' high

I just added more tree limbs leaf litter and a hollow log.

The water dish should be big enough for the snake to bathe in. Not big enough for the snake to have its own ocean oasis. :D I wouldn't worry about "too much space". For a BCI, space is a great thing. Just make sure he has a hide box.

That cage is SUPER sweet though! What are the dimensions?

Hey Invictus

The cage is only 8' long x 31 deep and 4' high with 20 "
of dirt just in case

Wow thats big.

i would put like at least 4 hides in there and dress it up a bit.
when all mine are adults they will be living in 4x2x2 cages unless i get a real big boa, like 10 feet or something.

Well done! I subscribe to the "can't have too much space" theory myself. After all how big is a rain forest?! Think it's all about making it interesting inside...
Nice snake too. It'll look the right size for that enclosure before you know it!

Yes but the rain forest has a million places to hide, and this place doesnt even have 1.

i do agree it is a nice cage, but it has to be dressed up a bit.
put lots of hides in, lots of fake plants, or whatever suits you.

Thats my opinion.

Thats why you arm the snake. Leg it too, then the monitors will be really confused. And if you spray the snake with a flower or fruit scent the monitors will probably ignore the snake.

You really should add some silk plants and vine for now so he feels a bit more secure. :)

Hell if i had the space i'd put a bunch of enclosures like that in, mainly for our bigguns.
