He have our herps scattered all over the house, but I thought I'd post a picture of this partcular room, where we have almost all of our neonates. What you see below are 2 enclosures 6 x 1.5 x 1.5. The bottom one is housing Hera, our BCI. The top one has individual boxes which have our neonate corns, VBBs, CalKing and Kenyan. It's amazing use of a single heat source - the light bulb gets it up to about 80 degrees ambiently in that one enclosure.

Here's the pic:

That is nice.
A great way to control heat for the smaller ones, nice looking set up, and secondary containment for those snakes who figure out how to escape.

Great idea - and we have a very similar set up for hatchlings. I have two boa cages that are no longer in use now that we have had to place the boas and they have been converted nurseries for the corns and hondurans. We are using heat rope to make a heat panel, but very similar set up. I will post some photos soon.

thanks for sharing,

Thanks you two. Ryan, the secondary containment is my personal favorite feature of a setup like this. And because it's a 6' enclosure, it should last a while. Worst case scenario is, I'll reduce the number of secondary cases in favor of larger ones when they outgrow them.

Great idea. Can't tell from the pic, how do you keep your BCI from getting at the light? Wire mesh?

Yes, there is a sheet of steel mesh over the light encasing.

2 cages for babies and later for adults, plus saved money from the bills, great idea. *Invictus didn't tell that was TheRedDragons' thought* ;) :D

Pretty cool, though any of our corns could escape a boa cage.

I would put these cages against a corn any day. I don't even have jewellery cases on the sliding glass, because it is wedged in there really well. It's even hard for us to open the glass doors because of the weight on them.

We've started dubbing the upper enclosure the "Colubrid Condo", even though we now have 2 BPs and a Kenyan in there as well. :D
