Hello, this question is for the few here that have experience with some of the larger cats.
I have been interested in the African serval for a few years now, and I believe I'll be ready finiancially/have room for one in a year or two. I've read up on them a lot, and read all the praise that owners have. I'm just wondering what those who have them think about them.
cheers :-)

I don't own any. but I have had the opportunity to work with some large cats. They are very cool. but can be unpredictable. I remember I was with a friend that was walking a lynx and this younger kid ran right by the lynx. Next thing I know I am pulling this cat off a child. the kid wasn't harmed, just a couple scratches and he was a little shaken. but just an example how they can go from good and friendly to hunting mode. this animal was going on instinct. Just one of my experiences with a big cat. I have heard worse stories though.

I've looked into Servals for myself.. Decided to opt for a Savannah, which is a mix of an ordinary house cat and a Serval. You get the Serval look, just without the size.. Also do not have to feed it meat... Waaayyy more expensive though
