Hey man, thanks for the gems. They are mean as hell, but still going to be loads of fun to play with. I'm not a colubrid-type guy, but what the hell, all snakes are cool, right! And I can't wait until they turn PURE white!! Holy!

HFH, you are right my man. Freaky-looking is right. And they come at you with their mouths open. Like a shark! Its hilarious!

here's a quick pic of the female.......whoa what a cow!! lol....
I have six LTR's in total and boy do I love them. Can't you tell by my avatar? :p That's Salt my original male. I think they're the best and if I had to work with only once species, it would be LTR's.
Not all LTR's have big eyes. Many leucy's are "bug eyed" or scientifically known as "exopthalmia". The size of the eye seems to range from barely noticable, to severely freaky looking snakes, that look uncomfortable with eyes that take up half their face!
Several other problems appear to be linked to the leucy gene, with some snakes exhibiting pupils that are turned downward or non-existent eyes. The funny thing is that I have never seen a blue eyed one. All of mine and the others I've seen at shows and the parents of the ones Jeff and Beth own have white or greyish eyes. I think the white eye with the black pupil and the white body is KILLER.
I find it interesting, that both albino boas and leucy tx rats have problems with their eyes. The only way to get rid of the bug eyedness is to breed only the best eyed ones together as the leucy and exopthalmia appear to be linked.
I think Dee in BC who bred these should get credit on producing these gorgeous animals.
