i want to get a retic.

currently, i keep a burmese, but my question is: how do retics compare with burmese as pets, generally speaking (personality, temperament, beauty[in your opinion], ect.)?

hmm. I myself have a burmese........no retic. But from stories mainly overall size....more aggresive and unpredictable.....but when it comes to beauty i love the burm but could never deny a retic......i would love to get a Super Dwarf.

So all in all if you dont mind a snake that is abit bigger(better chance) then a burm, and meaner go for it:)

Dont have ether but friend has burm and a retic at one time. Size. Retics i here get tempremental when the get really big. Burms are alot more layed back. Retics will be active all the time.. I have to say though retics are not for everyone but they can be the prettest and badest *** pythons out there.

I have both. I have 5 retics and 8 burms. Instead of telling you what is different, I will tell you what is the same. They are both large snakes. Just about everything else is different.

Where as a large burm does a very good impression of a rolled carpet, a retic is more animated. I personally believe that retics are more intelligent than burms and actually remember things. Burms are more laid back, retics are more bold.

Retics are not to be taken lightly, that is for sure, but they are my all time favorite and I would not trade them for anything!

I have a burm, and she is awesome. I also have friends who have retics, that are Satan's spawn.........LOL. Personally, I like the burms better as far as temperament. Retics also get much longer than burms. It's really a personal choice

I have two burms and just got a retic. It's not my first retic, but it's the first one I've had in a few years. Like Jason said they are both large snakes and the similarities end there. Retics are way more mobile and active. The first one I had was 13ft of mean. This new little girl has been very easy going so far. She is active and inquisitve but hasn't attempted to bite.

If you get one don't expect burm personality traits. They have a personality all their own. Good luck with you choice.

retics are way more agressive and can get much bigger and stronger. good luck if you decide to get one.

ok,
GENERALY speaking burms are more docile then retics. but that realy depends on your snake. there are retics out there that are much more docile then burms and vice-versa. i would give a retic some serous thought though, if u buy a good specemen as a baby and hold them lots u could end up with a nice tame specemen, or you could buy one and hold it lots and end up with a nice mean one. to some degree it is the luck of the draw.
