I've only been bitten if i hand feed my leos. Which that doesn't hurt. My baby corn snakes have bitten me also and i just sit there and laugh at them.

My top three offenders are; 1) Male Mexican Black Kingsnake
2) Female Brazilian Rainbow Boa
3) Male Mid Baja Rosy Boa
Also though I've never been nailed by my ATBs they both takes lots of shots at me.
Cheers,
Trevor
My baby Nile is the cheif culprit. He is getting better though, he has doubled in size since I got him and the bites are painful now. My albino Cal King used to bite all the time but he is just flighty now and not a biter. The only bad bite I've gotten was from a male burm I used to have, all ten feet of him. He got me across the hand and it was extremly painful.
my leo used to walk up real slow to my hand.. lick me, sniff me out, back up and strike at me.. weirdo :P hehe. yeah but leo bites arent exactly.. noticable

I get bit almost everyday. Some of the more interesting. Took a bite on my right hand in 2000 from a 17 foot Burmese Python. He swallowed my right hand from the side and tried to pull me in the cage. I had to wrestle him out so we could get my hand back. In 2002 a 15 foot Burmese Python got my left hand from the front. She swallowed it up to the wriest, then constricted around my legs. It turned into about a five minute ordeal. My life was never in danger, but it sucked wrestling my hand out of her mouth. Once I had the use of both hands, it was pretty easy to unwrap her. That one did a little nerve damage, my left hand tingled for about 3 months after. Also I have taken bites from a 5 foot Nile, a 3 foot Caiman, and a 4 foot Alligator, and a 12 foot anaconda. To this point, I have not been hit by a venomous snake and I am completely lost count of the bites I have taken from small snakes, geckos, and things of that nature.

I've been tagged a few times by my snakes, but mostly the neonates. Furious, one of our vietnamese blue beauties, is the prime culprit, followed by the lavender king. I think the baby corns might have, but their bite is so pathetic, you can't really be sure :)

Never been bitten, but I've only had my ball python for a few months. She is so docile, she'll probably never bite. *knocks on wood*

I've taken quite a few bites, but among the nastier ones have been: 3' water monitor(by far the worst---permanent scar, you could hear the teeth scraping underlying bone),5.5' retic(bled a lot),3' alligator(had to pry his jaws to escape),Amazon tree boa(vicious little demon---repeated strikes).
Took a few good ones from nile monitors too.
Nothing that deterred me from coming back for more though.:D

my retics still arent too happy when i get them out of the cage, but i have only been bit a few times. the worse that i have got hit by (witch compared to SCreptiles bites is like getting bit by a corn) i got tagged on by a 8 foot burm who wasent to keen on letting go.

Only once so far! :D
Damm Chuck, I'm just curious how bad was the nile bite and how much damage did it do?

He got me on the arm, about 2 to 3” above the wriest, so it really wasn’t that bad. I would say the deepest cut was about 1/4” and there were about 6 or 7 lacerations that ran about 2” long. Didn’t require stitches and virtually no scaring. If he would have gotten a figure, he may have taken one off. That 3 foot caiman got my little finger on my left hand. He grabbed it good, shook it, then rolled. I was surprised there wasn’t more damage then there was from that one.

Ive only been biten a few times. My first ball python got me one on the cheek. He was about 4 ft but it was more of a surprise than pain. Ive been bitten by my other ball quite a few times, he was quite the little dickens (pretty sure its because its previous owner would feed him white mice on his white towel as a subtrate, so he struck at what he could because he wasnt to good at catching the mouse).
never been bitten...been struck at, never tagged

I've been bitten by anoles, leopard geckos, other geckos, MANY garter snakes, plated lizards, an Amazon tree boa and my Borneo short-tailed python. The Borneo was the worst, it barly even left a mark but there was alot of blood. And the tree boa sure had long teeth! I haven't had any major bites yet...

I JUST got bitten today. It was from our new male VBB. he was sweet as pie when we took him home yesterday from the show. Then, today, I lifted the lid to his terrarium to be greeted by some tail whipping and a bite that broke the skin on my right pointer finger. Even after I put the lid back on, he continued to lash at the sides and lid of the terrarium, what a little psycho! *LOL*
This would be the 2nd time in my entire life that a snake has tagged me. The 1st time was when I was a kid and I picked up a wild Garter that happened to be lying in the road. I didn't even notice it bit me until I released it again. I looked at the back of my right hand to find 4 nice little bleeding wounds. *L*

I've been bit (dry bite) yesterday by my Usumbara baboon. First time i've ever got bit by a tarantula in 15 years and beleive me they had plenty of oportunities. I'm actually pretty proud of that bite as I now know first hand what it truly feels like.

I have not been bitten as of yet.... after reading this I think I will be a bit more careful as I get lax sometimes :)
My kingsnake used to bite me and still does if I bug her at the wrong time, but its not something that happens very often.

I've been bitten 2 times. the first by a 9 foot boa constrictor and the second by my 2 foot caiman. those two bits were painful enough to last me a couple of years.

I haven't been bitten yet either, but me and my bp are also a pretty new couple. I was so proud, though...last night, I was taking off his shed left by bad shed from being boarded, and he didn't even make a move to strike. He just turned his head around calmly and watched me peel his skin off...

I have a baby corn that bites me at least twice every time I take him out I cant say that I take him out every day so I went with every week or less although its more than that.
I've only been biten by my 3' ball and a 3' corn. It's more of a shock then anything. lol
My corn took a lunge at me once, but missed by a mile... I wondered how he gets the mice on the first try but missed my "pinkie" hehe
I have a system for socializing my snakes. .I have a glove that I wear when I handle the neonates. I pick them up every day and take a lot of hits. After a few dozen hits they get the idea (conditioning) to not bother....it works for me and mine. I still have problems with the BRBs and the Candoias, but time will tell

arachnomania: I hear that tarantula bites are about as bad as a hamster bite. If that's the case...OUCH!!!
