Man-o-man! Was today ever an awesome herp day or what?! I got so many new pets! Of course, I wasn't expecting to get any of them so soon but I don't mind not having to wait! :D

First of all, here is my oh-so-adorable-and-small male rat from Pixie. He is a pet and will soon be bred to my other two females who I too bought from Pixie. Even though my females are seriously 4x his size, they get along fine. Turmeric, my black and white rat, even shares her food with him! He is such a cutie! Thanks, Anny!!
Second of all, here is my Rio Grande Gold Tarantula from arachnomania! I've been wanting one for a long time now and was definately planning on buying one within the next few months but really wasn't expecting one so soon! Never the less, she is adorable, has beautiful colours and is very cuddly!! Thanks, Rob!
Third of all, here is my gorgeous red-leg millipede. Although I have always wanted a millipede, I knew that I would never own one... especially one as beautiful as my little, or should I say big boy! He too is from arachnomania. I honestly was not expecting to bring one hom today! It was kind of like "Hey Emily, do you want a red leg millipede?" "Of course!" "Okay, here you go!" He is SUCH A SWEETIE and such a pig! I just can't put him down!! Thanks, Rob!

*****
Ah yes, and fourth of all! I just ordered another leopard gecko. He is a male super hypo tangerine carrottail from the urban gecko but I will not have him in my hands until Sept. 5th, 6th, or 7th. He is so gorgeous! Check him out:

If the pic doesn't show, go to http://www.boomspeed.com/stealthhippo/TUG-PCC-AJ4-b.JPG
*****
Okay, now Kesare isn't too new... I've had her for a bit over a week but didn't get photos until now. So many of you have read about her and have been waiting for photos of her. Well, good news! They are finally here! kesare is also from Arachnomania and oh my god... she is one helluva dream tarantula! Thank you so much, Rob!!

*****
Hehe so yeah... look who got treated big time today! Thanks Anny, thanks rob, thanks mom and dad!!

They're all very, very nice. I especially like the last tarantula and the millipede, tried to see how many legs he had but I kept losing count...lol

I love the gecko babe. How much did you shell out for that beauty?
PS: Its always good to have a breedin colony of rats... because youve always got a steady supply of babys for the snakes

Boidkeeper, I like snakes too but mom said that I am only allowed to own one snake and I could never get rid of my corn!
Lisa, I used to breed mice for my snake but they smell so much and so I switched over to rats. i bought them purposely so that they would breed and so I don't really have to "watch out" for the babies. ;)
herpetologist, I would really prefer not to mention the price of that leopard gecko out in the open here.

Man, if I was your mom I'd totally rather have you get a bunch of snakes than all those icky spiders! LOL...

Lol i said watch out for the mommies. the mommies tend to be a little nippy when they have kids. we wear leather gloves so we can reach in, let the rat bite the glove, push her on her back to show we're dominant then we fill the food bowl. It doesn't hurt the rat and it means that ones that we socialize (like our russian blue rats that go to pet stores as pets only, not food) can start getting socialized earlier. we hold them and pet them to get them used to humans so when the pet store gets them they don't have nippy pet rats.

Matt_winter, the price for super hypo tangs are always changing. you can probably buy one for around $150 but I'll tell you one thing... that gecko that i just bought is WWAY over $500. But then again, mine is also a carrottail. You can probably also buy a hypo tang for $125.

OMG Emily I am so jealous!! My parents say they won't let me have any more pets... even though I keep getting more and more... I can honestly say I have way too many at the moment, and probably won't get too many more until I get a job to afford all the food and vet bills, etc. In the mean time, I will just have to do with what I have, and all I can say is I enjoy it all :D
