A couple of people have commented on my avatar and not knowing were that clown is from so i will give a little background of IT.
IT is a book and movie by all time greatest horror writer Stephen King. I am a Stephen King nut (passed down with my father lol). IT can take several forms into anything that he desires to mess with your mind. The forms IT uses the most would be Pennywise the clown (played be Tim Curry also starred in Rocky Horror Picture Show). IT lures childern away and kills them from a small town (forgot the name) every so many years (forgot how many years) I'm just going to give the basis of IT cause i don't want to ruin the movie if people haven't seen IT. If you enjoy scary movies this one is a all time classic and a must see. Along with some other great scary or suspense movies Silence of the Lambs, Red Dragon, The Shinning, and Dee Sniders Strangeland (which i'm not allowed to watch Strangeland when my boyfriend is home cause it creeps him out way too much). Strangeland is defenitly a must see. All kinds of body modification and suspensions in there. Plus how many times are you going to see Freddy Krueger being tortured and suspended With his mouth and eyes sewn shut. LOL I know i'm warped. Scary movies are the best!!!
I know his image in that pic is very creepy but everytime i see it i laugh cause it reminds me of parts of the movies.

Pookie my dad's the same way i remember being real little curled up in his lap watching stephen king movies and sometimes he would read parts of the books to me. I just recently bought a 3 pack dvd with Maximum Overdrive, Children of the Corn, and Creepshow 2. i'm trying to get all of his movies. I really want The shinning and people under the stairs. Sleep walkers really good too. Alright all of them are good.

I like Steven King, my favorite book by him would have to be The Long Walk. But does nayone else agree that althoguht King's book are wonderful, his movies kind of lack, well, the ability to be anywhere as good as the book?

amost all of his movies are more like B movies but i still enjoy watching them and having the charecters brought to life (so to speak).

Here I go with my controversial opinion....
I am NOT a Stephen King fan. I think as the horror genre goes, he is the most overrated writer in history. I like Dean R. Koontz and Bran Lumley. I find King's books WAY too hard to get into, and when you bore the crap out of me in the first 200 pages, I will never pick up the book again.
Drewlowe, that's awesome that you've seen Strangeland. :) I haven't seen it myself, because I can never find it in the vid stores. But I have seen captions and I do know about the story. Dee Snider is a godlike being to me. He's the reason I got into metal music. :)
Koontz is the man....but my favorite king book is the shining...or a bag of bones
I saw "It" a few years ago and haven't looked at clowns the same ever since. Now they always seem sinister :-).
jncoclub: I agree, the movies never seem quite as good as the book.
I am with The Omen: I can't wait for DTV: Wolves of Calla.
IT was great, People Under the stairs was awesome, Prince of Darkness was Freakin' amazing!

I have the dvd of Strangeland it was the only copy at Best Buy. I HAD to buy it. I know down here in the states they have them at blockbuster. The first time i watched strangeland my mom was home and she decied to watch it with me. So the whole way through the movie i had to explain all the piercings, modifications, and suspension to her. She sat there and cringed the whole time. I will never forget one of the begining scenes when he took the 2 girls and they found Geniveves(sp) friend in the trunk. When they showed the ring they found i blurted out what size it was then they said it. My mom was in shock that i knew the answer. I think it was a 00 gauge if my memory serves me correct.
I was eagerly waiting for Rob Zombies house of a 1000 corpses but was entirely let down when i seen it. Nothing at all like i was expecting excpecally from Rob Zombie.

I couldn't agree more, I think someone as artistic as Zombie could have done WAY better.
But it really depends what you were expecting going into it... Rob Zombie himself said that this is a slasher film - no more, no less. And face it, as B-grade movies go, House of 1000 corpses was the best one of all time. :)

IT was such an awesome book. I also saw the movie, which really did the book no justice, but, that Pennywise was sure creepy. *shudder* I've never liked clowns anyways. *LOL*
House OF 100 Corpses was exactly what I expected from the mind of Rob Zombie, twisted and tripped out. :) I'm definitely adding that one to my B Grade collection. :)
God, another avatar that is kind of creepy is Youkai's! . It's from the movie Donnie Darko I believe, that was yet another crazy movie. :)

Hmmm, this Strangeland sounds pretty weird,I'll have to see if I can find it at the video store.
As far as horror writers go I have to say Koontz is the best I've ever read.
Although "IT" was a really good book with lots of character development I find a lot of his stories filled up with a lot of meaningless morbidity.
Has anyone read "The BAD PLACE" by Koontz...that is my all time favorite horror story.
Koontz is plenty morbid himself but he doesn't wallow in it like King does.
"The Bad Place" has got everything in it,humor, horror, romance, paranormal and perversion! A must read.:D

I am definetely a Stephen King fan. He's great. Have to disagree with you on Koontz. Every book is the same, same, same! It gets old after a while.

I really want to see IT. Stephen King came to my school and did a reading from one of his books (don't remember which...it's a new one) and it was such a trip to see him in person!

Every time I see your new avatar I cringe!!! ***shivers profusely*** Man I hate clowns............don't know why exactly. I love Stephen King. Bag of Bones was incredible. I really wanted to see House of a 1000 Corpses, never got the chance though. Anyone seen the ads for Cabin Fever????? Looks like a good one!

Gotta love that Stepho! Loved The Stand, hated the ending. Thoroughly enjoy the Dark Tower series, Green Mile was great in serial release. The Talisman sticks out as a favorite, but I think my favorite story was his original Running Man written under Richard Bachman. That ending to that has got to be my favorite King creation.
I enjoy most of his flicks as I find them to be direct translations of the original without a lot of dramatic license taken. Unfortunately, I've been trying to get through It for the last five years and simply can't finish the last 200 pages. WTF is up with that?

Well Wuntu, crack a Guiness, sit back, and read the last 200 pages already!!!!!!
Another great one is Desperation. Talk about wacked out, freaky ****!!!!!! The Regulators (under Bachman) was pretty good, but not comparable to Desperation. Now THAT would be a wicked movie!

Now thinking about it I did see Strangeland. It was a movie where I sat and didn’t blink for the entire thing while making a funny “huh”-face. However, I must admit, even thought it was twisted an odd, I feel a bit ashamed for really liking it.
