Is a 55gallon tank fine for 1-2 adult ball pythons?

for 1, yes. Is it a screen top aquarium? If so, heating may become an issue. Its hard to heat up all that air, and keep it from raising out.

You will find most people here dont keep snakes housed together. One will usually dominate over the other for better hide. And if you are feeding them in the enclosure together,....it's just not a good idea.

By the way, what part of jersey are you in?

it will do fine for 1 yes, but make sure you have a hide on both sides of the tank, and you can just use 1 water dish on the cold side or you can also put a water dish on both sides.

I suggest you do not keep 2 together as stkks said, for also it will prob stress them out which is also not good.

Good luck

You might want to scroll through the forums, I'm sure you'll find many reasons why not to house two BP's together, among them;
1. Female will usually dominate the male.
2. WILL cause feeding problems.
3. Don't even consider breeding them if they live together, it will not happen.
4. If one gets sick, they both will.
5. They are NOT communal creatures, I don't care if they are usually together, that's for the optimal lighting, heating, views, etc.

Don't house together, everyone has great points as to why not.....If one gets sick....they both do, doubling the vet bill....And if one has runny or abnormal bathroom drops then you don't know which one it is.....
