well, i am so glad i went to the vet. it turns out my fecal sample showed -Coccidia, pinworms, and mites. So they are currently being treated and the enclosure is also being treated while they are in a critter keeper for now. at least they can start to get better, now. And the vet even said they appear healthy and happy, but we would not have known about the parasites. i think i better inform the Dealer where i got them. Maybe they can do something to prevent it from spreading.

i would totally recommend anyone who gets a new Gecko, take a fecal sample to be analyzed. it does not cost much. if i had not witnessed my gecko taking that nasty poop, i may have never known until it was too late.

Glad you took the trip to see the Vet! It's always good to check on your new animals. Nice work! Good luck w/ them!

Glad to hear everything is alright. Parasites are a risk you have to take when buying from a distributor, they have a huge no. of animals and species to deal with so cross-contamination would be inevitable. It's great to hear that you got them to the vet, most people would just dump them back on the dealer. Good work! :D

they are my babies. I loved them the day they arrived. as a gecko parent, it is my job to take them to the vet if needed. i could never send them back to the dealer to live with parasites. i just hope the treatment works and does not make them sick. they are so little.

my vet said that captive bred crickets won't give them parasites, but when i got home, i checked and there are many sites that state that crickets can pass pinworms to the geckos. so now, i am trying to wean them onto the gecko diet, exclusively. i hate to take a chance while they are so small. maybe when they start to grow, and are stronger, i'll try a couple crickets, but they make me nervous, now. especially since i am currently treating for pinworms.

i emailed the dealer and told them what happened, and they said they were sorry and that they are checking for mites and etc.. but i did not have RED mites, so he said he does not consider them a problem. i have tiny grey mites.. and i only found one, and it was on very small. he also said that it is very rare for Cresteds to get worms and mites. and i already knew that, i was kind of hoping he'd offer to pay for the vet exam. but i guess i'm dreaming...i don't care, as long as they get well and have no ill effects from the meds.

I'm still floored that your new gex came from as "reputable" a dealer as them carrying a parasite load like that! Personally, I don't believe that cross contamination should be occurring to that extent. Keep your CB animals in this room and your WC in the other and never the two shall meet.

Yeah, well the guy said they have a few breeders that they get their Crested geckos from, and it could be any of them, so he is going to warn them about it, too. I have read that you can even find a lot of parasites at reptile shows. i guess there is no good way to know, so have a fecal sample tested when you get a new gecko, and keep it quarantined until the results are back.
