well the time has come for me to pet a herp other than a cham, and i am leaning towards a crestie ...
i noticed that baby food is an important part of their diet ... but i have one question ... how much do cresties stink? i mean chamelons eat only crix, and therefore their waste has no smell ... but i know beardies and iguanas eat fruits, and the STINK! ...
my mom got rid of my sisters beardie because of the smell, so in relation to chameleon .. how much do they stink? will i be able to smeel it when i walk into my room? let me know

ya, what heather said
baby food is fairly important, or rather some for of fruit. If you are feeding on fruit u must also give cricks or some other live food and provide calcium supplement.
There is also the Crested Gecko Diet from Trex, which simplifies the whole thing. You can feed them this soley, and give some live food here and there if you want.
Ive been told that if you feed baby food, get the type with no added sugar, i just pureed mango and he seems to like that.

no stink, honest. Cresties are wonderful.
Yep, there is no obvious smell. I personally think they smell less than chams because their enclosures stay cooler and drier so waste products aren't degraded as quickly. If you're worried about baby food then you could try looking for a crested that hates the stuff, some cresteds prefer crix as their staple diet and rarely touch it. Another option is cgd. The intensity of the smell is practically non-existant so it really isn't something to worry about. Good luck and post some pics when you get one. (trust me, you will) ;)
