This is a male Hypo Southern that we hope will father some eggs in the next couple of years. And if all goes well, it'll be bred to our striped girl.
Regarding my prior comment about these two being the only ones that exist in captivity, I should have included that they were the only "known" animals of their type that exist in captivty.
I do realize there could be a few of these floating around out there, but in years of looking for other like these, and in talking to other Scrub fanatics (there aren't that many), it is under the safe ASSUMPTION that they are the only specimens that exist in captivity.
Believe me, I am the first to hope that there are more that exist. The more, the better, regardless of who owns it.
Maybe I came off as a braggart...but I do know I did not make them hypo or striped. I had no part in their creation/existence other than having the extra dough to blow when they were offered for sale.
And of course if anyone knows of any other specimens like our striped and hypo, please...pretty please...let me know!
