Vent holes in rubbermaid???

Depends on the setup, the Rubbermaid, the size of Rubbermaid, the size of the boa, etc etc etc etc.

Way too many variables to answer that. But if you must have an answer, well between 0 and 20 holes. How's that?

I make my holes with a sottering iron. For boas and pythons I put one row of holes towards the top all the way around the tub and I space the holes about 1 1/4 inches apart. This seems to be enough holes to hold in heat and humidty and allow air to circulate. In my setup I can move the water closer to the heat to raise humidity and further from the heat to lower it. I don't count the holes I just space them evenly. Since a picture is worth a thousand words, here ya go...

EXCELLENT setup!

But I do the exact opposite of that and put all the holes at the open end (cold side) of the Rubbermaid. Warm end has no holes and thus my heat gradient is more effective. No right or wrong way, but my way fits my setup. JD's way fits his. Now find out what fits yours and do it.

Most of mine are the way Jaremy's are, with exceptions for desert and humid environments. My BRB do not have holes on the short ends, and my drier climate animals have a double set of rows with increased holes in 4 spots (the middle of each side).
