A friend of mine is going away for a while (not jail) and has offered to give me his adult male brb. What would be an appropriate enclosure for him and what size, he's about 5 feet long. He had him in a 50 g tank with a screen top. From what i've read screened topped enclosures don't hold the humidity very well, and he said he was forever misting to keep it up. Any suggestions?
i put a pice of glass or something similar over 1/2 the top (over the water dish) to hold in some humidity along w/ misting about once a day. And if you keep the water dish over the UTH it also helps w/ the humidity and the snake can soak in the warm water. Good luck with him!

if you do a search on brazilian rainbow boas here there will be more than enough info for you to handle :)
but a glass aquarium with a screen top will be no good.
get yourself a nice big rubbermaid container to use. they are prob the best for holding humidity.
good luck.

I've looked through the care sheets, what's an appropriate sized rubbermaid for an adult.
Thank you

I didnt find any rubbermaid large enough to hold a water bowl and a spagnum moss bowl.. Id built myself an 3x3x2 enclosure for him with some air traps :)
Gracious Living makes underbed units suitable for housing most adult BRB, and definitely a 5-footer ;) They measure 40"x22"x6". That gives you more than 6 feet of square space.
