Okay, I have 1.1 leos that have lived together since they were babies (they are unrelated). Anyway, I wondering if I should seperate them now (the female is reaching sexual maturity) so she doesn't get laid too soon and get egg bound?

I only have 2 males who have been raised together since they where born with no problems what so ever. I will eventually in the future get a female.

I'd separate them until she's at least 40g, then you can reintroduce them if you plan on breeding them :) You wouldn't want her getting accidentally gravid before she's read, and if you keep them together that's likely to happen especially since males reach sexual maturity before females...

separate them when the male is reaching sexual maturity.. not so much the female cause the female wont exactly uh.. go out looking to mate

anacondasaurus: i would separate your 2 males even if they have been raised together cause they'll fight sooner or later especially when u get that female

Okay, thanks all!

And yup Anadaconda, definitely seperate those two males or one day you'll find one is missing a tail!

I agree with everyone else. You should seperate them beofre the problems start. Even if hypothetically speaking they never did fight, they sure will if you throw a female in to the equation!

My patternless that i have is an adult now and im pretty sure its a male , I dont think that the others in the tank are ready to be sexed but do i need to seperate them at all from the male because its not breeding season ??? or does that not make sense?

matt winter, it would be good if you seperated them now. The male might be getting sexually mature and could mate with the females too soon for them to handle it well. He could also fight with males that are just beginning to be mature. Anacondasaurus, how long have you kept them together? They will probably fight sometime, so you should seperate them. If you put a female in with them I can assure you they WILL fight, maybe evn kill each other! If not then one might dominate the other one, getting the best hiding places, more food etc. and after awhile the other male would get sick and die.

I have only ever had one instance were males were kept together with out trouble. They were brothers and they had been house together since hatching, plus they had never seen a female. Still I think I got off lucky with those two.

Zoe I would seperate the female so she doesn't get knocked up too young.
