Looks pretty in her hide, huh? I hate disturbing this little girl, but couldn't resist snapping a quick pic of her when I was checking up on her. She's doing real good and has an attitude lately! Note the moss in the mouth from striking and missing the camera! I hope she will breed for me next year.

Greg, in my exp. most mandarins are fairly quiet, yet flighty. They stay still until they feel threatened, then bolt! C.B. of course are usually more like a typical corn snake. This is a w.c. female I got a few years ago and I feel that she has adjusted to my "hands off" approach and is comfortable in a world without much disturbance. They will stress easily, and I don't want that. She and my male are pretty much left alone except to feed, water and clean. Maybe a pic or 2 now and then....

Great to have a male too, i assume in about 2 years you're going to breed them? How much eggs they produce?

Thanks, Josef.Greg, I hope to have some next year. I believe normal clutches are 4-8. I will be thrilled to have ANY!

That is a way cool snake. Are they overly expensive?

C.B. hatchlings are around $250.ea US. I took a chance on a pair of w.c. for little money at all. A friend wanted to try 10 females in hopes of keeping a few alive, and I was with him at the time. I was lucky and could pick out the 2 I wanted from dozens. The female took a mouse even though she was in a box with 10 other snakes, so I took that as a sign that she had the "will to live". Unfortunately, 9 of 10 w.c. will die within weeks of being imported. All of my friend's w.c. mandarins died after maybe 6 mos. I cannot recommend buying w.c. mandarins. I put some time and meds into them so actual cost was much higher than the cheap initial price.
