The female dropped 6 slugs today and 2 little babies that are dead, one deformed and the other I THINK was not complete when she droped it... But now she stoped dropping, so my guess is that she saw that they are not ready and will finish later...
anyway, heres some picts ......

POISONOUS:

Sorry to hear that I knew how badly you wanted to see something positive from this. Well we both did. I am sorry for the loss and the work involved and it all coming to a negative reaction.

I hope better next time for you.

It's her first year I presume mary? That's probably all she's going to drop, if so. I think I see 7 slugs - plus the 2 babies so 9 potential snakes. Not much, but it's her first year! Next will be better!

I don't think she gave birth too soon - the deformed one is REALLY deformed, and that other one probably died just before it finished developping.

I believe next year will be much better for her...unfort. with Boas...we have to accept those bad moments.
I don't know much about breeding Boas but, maybe she wanted more males?
How many males copulated with her? Maybe were few?
I don't know...some thoughts...

Hi Mary!

I just caught the news of the slugs and stillborns. At the risk of sounding overly profound >>> we all live in hope! Last year, your Golden female appeared somewhat gravid but may have reabsorbed her ova. This year, she seemed more gravid and dropped some slugs and stillborns. Things seem to be progressing, though I know this serves as small consolation for your sleepless nights and disappointments. Take solace that at this rate, she should produce her first litter of living, healthy young next season...

Hope springs eternal!

Many thanks,

Greg, to answer your question, she was mating with one male for about 3 months.

Zoe, yes it was her "first" litter if you dont count the try I made last season. The last one was half alive when he was born but died few minutes after..

However, she STILL has something inside her, she stoped dropping after the last stillborn...
My boyfriend saw it coming out and all... she had this huge lump near the exit, but stopped there....
Making me hope that she still can give birth soon to some babies. *crossing my fingers*

Cross your fingers Mary, but if i were you, i wouldn't expect much, so if she is realy give birth to any alive one, that would made me realy happy.
Just a tip ;)

Is there a chance that she felt weakened and that's why she dropped them beforehand? My point is, her weight was regular all that prebreeding time?

I dont think so.. looks like it can be "normal" that she drops some slugs before the final dropping..
but anyway, now she is starting a shed cycle *good sign*
Still refuses meals..
Im still hoping :)

She was eating like a pig before she mate... :)

Well, she was obviously old enough, large enough, and healthy enough. I guess it was just bad luck.

Lets just not jump on conclusions right away, shes still full, will shed and wont eat,
the little ones were obviously not ready since they had almost no colors.. if I compare to Jeff Favell's babies... ;)

Well, :) all can do is wait...*i never want to be in the place you are right now*...fall on your knees and speak to her
"come on sweetie!..i keep ya 6 f**** years for god shake!...come on! won't you give me not a single baby?..?"
This always works, women understand each other :D
