I own a BRB and I am looking to buy another snake (not to keep together). I was wondering how tame and easy to handle is a carpet compared to a Red Tail or BRB? I also want to know how hard they are to take care of.

MSUBIGDAWG:
I rate JCP a step equal to BRB' s just a different manner of keeping them. If you have had the BRB for 1.5 years then a JCP is easy. Depending on what you want adult or baby, each has its own requirments. My experience so far has been with babies, well only 1 as for JCP or a few if you include Irians. Baby JCP can be nippy but if your into snakes you have to expect that. They are trainable to quit the nippy action. Adults expect same but a much larger snake, so do your research before getting anything.
As for redtails, this a whole new ball park. Being most are larger than BRB and JCP's and some require some special needs more than JCP, but BRB' s also have special requirments. So you covered under that.
Just do alot of research take the time to learn before you buy, this animal requires the best care possible and does not deserve a unwanted snake shelter after.

Well, how tame is your BRB? Rainbows can vary in temperant.
BCIs are far easier to handle than carpets. My BCI is super mellow, when I take her out she just hangs around wherever I put her. My carpets, while not nippy or anything, like to wander around and explore stuff. But they are still fine to handle, even my babies.
Most carpets are tame. All the coastals I have met were - but they can get pretty big 8-10ft+. Irian Jayas almost always are, but younger ones can be a little put-offish and make idle threats sometimes, but still never bite (well, mine never have!) A lot of the jungle's I've met were pretty agressive, but if you work with a baby from hatching they should fine.
And yep, carpets are pretty easy. Decent temps, spray a couple times a week, hide box, water dish, some branches or shelves and you're set!

hey, Im new on this site and was wondering if any one could tell
me how big jungle carpets are when they are born I heard
around 12 inches, how fast to they grow and any thing else
anyone wants to tell me I have read alot about them but didn't
answer all my questions. I have 3 ball pythons right now. thanks
joe
JUngles are bigger than 12 inches when they are born, because IJs (they mature to be on avg a foot or so smaller than jungles) hatch at 15" MINIMUM, 18 or 19" average.
