All my bp seems to do when she is not sleeping is trying to escape her enclosure. She calms down when I take her out, then when I try to put her back in her enclosure, she tries to slither up my arm, or hook her "neck" on the side of the enclosure.
Her temps and humidity are good. Does anyone elses bps do this? Or is she just being curious?

welcome to racheltraz. unfortunately ive had my 3 year old girl escape 1 time. but she has never forgotten.
Mine does the same. Several times when I've gone in to the room she's in after lights out I've watched her climb up on her tree and check out every inch of the wire top on her cage.

My BP does this too. it *does* get in the way of feeding sometimes when he'd rather climb up the tongs than eat the food. i find that he gets less stressed if i let him climb out of the tank on his own when it's handling time. Otherwise, as long as your tank is escape proof, there's nothing to worry about :D
yup, yup, yup. Hugh does that too. Only when Im going to bed or when its really dark. No worriies :) Just make sure you have some sort of clamps holding your tanks lid down.

Funny, our BCI has never tried to escape. We did have a Kenyan escapee not too long ago though. :)
My ball does that too. She is in a 3 foot long tank and I often wonder if she'd be happier in a larger one.

lilyskip,
Letting the snake come out on it's own is a good idea. I think I'll start doing that. Probably less stressful eh?

Not necessarily... excessive "escape-like" behaviour can lead to such issues as nose rub, absesses, and mouthrot

My ball does that when he's hungry and that is a good sign to offer food.
...you should see my burm doing that!...running like a fugitive from side to side of the cage :D

my bp hasn't done that but once and that was the thursday and friday after I got her. She was moving all over the tank prowling and smelling so I offered food and turns out she was very hungry lol. Since then she's been in shed so I haven't seen much of her except for some handling.

Linds,
My concern is the nose rubbing. Whenever the snake is active, it's usually running it's nose along the edges of the enclosure, or trying to climb the walls and get to the top. Her nose seems OK, but is there any way to curb this habit of nose rubbing?
Thanks
Dave
If its excessive enough that it is causing you concern, you can try covering the enclosure so she can't see out. In many cases it will help, but not always.
