I've had my bp for 10 days now and I haven't seen a sign of defication(SP?). Is it normal for a snake to go this long without making a poo? I've found urate in her mulch bowl(humid hide) but no poo. She's eaten twice since we've had her and seems well adjusted. She is thermoregulating and prowls at night and everything seems normal so should I worry?

yeah, it's no biggie. my ball first defacated about two-two and a half weeks after i got him (right in time for a vet visit!) and everything was okay.

I've had a Ball go 55 days without a bowel movement. No biggie. Snakes are not like us. They are conservationists and super efficient animals. They expel liquid and solid waste simultaneously (urates instead of urea or urine). They guard their internal water balance with their lives, because if they didn't, they'd be dead. Therefore, generally, snakes don't poop very often, and Ball Pythons specifically, take even longer that most snakes!

Don't worry.
