im not sure why my boa aint eating, he doesn't ever come out of his hide. He also eats every week 3 times already... When i go and pick him up, hes really active. Now he just aint eating... Any one have any tips on getting him to eat. He eats Mice but right now im trying rats... its just laying there... getting cold

I'm having more trouble with this guy than most BPs...

is this the first rat youve tried?

try feeding him in a seperate container, scent the rat with a mouse.

this is strange, every boa ive had will switch no problem..
and i havent ever really heard of a boa not eating so i dont know what to say man.

Solid Snake, BP's can be ravenous feeders and so can BC's.. With BC's you can stretch the feeding days a little further apart. About 7 to 8 days and with appropriately sized items.. Right now my juvenile BC is still on adult sized mice close to 30 grams 1 every 7 days.. And the snake is MINT..

I learned that lesson early and hopefully you can practice it and have successful results..

i know this sounds really basic, but........ make sure the temps havent changed too much, have u got ur feeders from a different supplier? as already said some boas need a bit more than leaving a dead rat in the cage. try moving it around a little, not too much so it scares the crap out of the snake, just make it look alive. ive had tonnes of boas that would eat mice, but trying to get them on rats took a while, but they all got there in the end
cheers

So... he has already taken three meals and he has become inactive? Always staying in the hide? As long as everything else is adaquate as paul_le_snake had mentioned, then it could be something as simple as a shed cycle. Most boas will become inactive and refuse food during the shed cycle, and just before they go opaque (although, not always the rule).

Keep us informed, and good luck.
