View Full Version : Spectacled Caiman
Hi everyone,
I'm new to this forum and would just like to share a photo or two of some of the crocs I used to keep. This is a five year old pair of spectacled caimans. I miss them dearly as I sold them about a year and a half ago:( I have been regretting it very much ever since.

hey hey!
Not too many crocodilian owners here but me and Jason.. as far as i know.
Nice little guys. So why did u sell them? They seemed to be just getting to some fairly decent sizes. Did u ever handle them with out the tappped up mouth?
Any pics of their old enclosures?
Nice pics

Thanks guys,
They were great, and yes I did handle them without the tape but that was the day I was selling them so they were all ready for pickup. Sorry but I don't have any pics of the enclosure, or even many more of those two beauties. I'm just waiting for my little guy to gain some size now. To tell you the truth those were the first crocodilians I ever owned and they were given to me at a size just a bit smaller than they are in the pics. The guy was moving to Australia and he heard about me keeping herps and I told him i'd take them in. He gave me the enclosure and all the filtration for them but he just dropped it all off one day and the enclosure wasn't big enough for my liking, plus there was only one enclosure they had been kept together their whole life. I don't like the idea of keeping crocodilians together unless of course you have a very large enclosure for the two. At the time I had no idea how to go about building a large semi aquatic enclosure, so I kept them for as long as it took me to find them an excellent home. Now they are with a fantastic owner, who has devoted his whole basement into a pond for my two little beautes. Now I wish I had of built something like that for them but I guess theres always next time.
Thanks,
Luke
