View Full Version : Fear Factor...They did what!!!!!
Hi all,
Did any of you see the Fear Factor finals yesterday night?
Since the show was to be continued they did not finish showing the freakiest of stunts.
They had a big tank of water set up and the girls had ta swim and gather objects...except the twist being they had ta swim around gators/crocks (not sure). Am I wrong here ta think that Fear Factor has hit another low? Plus, these gals have ta be nuts ta even think about doing such a stunt. I would never do it even if the cash prize was a million. It's only a matter of time before some person gets hurt.
My bets are on the crock/gators get to have a snack just ta prove a point.
That's my .02 cents.
What do u guys think?

i dont know if my husband mentioned this or not but the other day they were doing a ff stunt at a local bar in odessa. they put a bunch of live and dead fish into a tank and then put 2 pythons in the water and the people had to get the dead fish from the bottom of the tank, with the snake swimming around......
First of all, that's not even scary. Sure dead fish are gross, but the human's are at no risk. The poor python and living fish are! Can you imagine all the amonia from the dead fish? Sheesh! If people were using cute furry animals in stunts that caused the same amount of harm to the animal, the show would have been charged. It makes me sick, and I don't watch it.
Didn't they tie up the croc/gator's mouths when they were swimming with them?
I agree they are wrong, but does this topic really need to be brought up each week as a new show comes on? It's getting rather tiring. Everyone possible person has signed every petition possible and constant bad mouthing of the show could get this website in trouble I would think ????

I HATE this show! My Bf tends to love it, (chics swimming around in bikinis), but the way animals are portrayed and treated is just wrong. The last episode I saw, a person was placed into a tank with three sections. One was filled with worms, the other snakes and the last one hissing cockroaches. I'm not an insect fan, but the way ALL of these creatures were treated disgusted me. The person in the tank had to separate out 'white' snakes from all the other colors. Since this event is timed, many animals were thrown, dropped, mishandled, etc. You could actually see one poor snake hit his face on the side of the rubbermaid container as the contestant threw him in without regard. If the croc thing is true I hope the gators aren't taped and the contestants.... well they get what's coming to them for supporting such a blatant excuse for animal cruelty and neglect. They want people to fear and hate these animals anyways... little more have concern for their well-being. Well, that's my little rant... as you can tell this is VERY upseting to me. =(
I've said it before, I'll say it again. Let the advertisors know you will not be buying their product as long as they support shows that do not take into consideration the safety and well being of animals such as fear factor.

*hate not hated ;)
Well, I didn't realise that this was brought up every single week, so I don't know if this has been done, but has anyone ever contacted the media to use them to blast the show politely? Freedom of the press right?
All the ssnakess members in the US who feel strongly about this have numerouse shows like 20/20 and such to contact. The Canadians have many options aswell. Everyone could contact thier local newspaper. Write a very polite, well researched, maybe sappy letter, and perhaps you'll get their attention enough that they'll do a bit on the animal cruelty that goes on in the show. One thing that inspires TV shows to change their ways is bad publicity. They want to keep making the millions, and without viewers, they can't.
I think that it's a release for people to gripe about it here, no matter how often it's mentioned. This is afterall, an open discussion board and our fellow herpers will lsiten and relate. This is just my 2 cents.
