i heard that sum BP's wont eat anythin unless its a specific color (ie. black/grey)

some of them are color specific.........some aren't just depends on the snake.............
It's more like they get hooked on a color, sometimes. Although it doesn't happen alot but lets say you feed white rats for a year and then try a black. It may refuse.

I've heard about color specific before. I have never had a snake that would only eat a certain color though.
Often colour preferences develop based on their natural food items. In the wild, you don't see little white lab rodents running around, but you will see browns, blacks, tan, etc.
Some may develop just a preference in the same way we do.
Some may also develop coat-type preferences (ie- hairless).
