View Full Version : Evil Evil Petstore
Their husbandry is unspeakable! The biggest cage they have there (for herps) couldn't have been any more than a 20gallon tank! Probably smaller. It was a female veiled and it was PURPLE! Not dark green or grey... PURPLE! I couldn't believe it. I walked by it and it was gaping like no tomorrow. I thought of doing something but when I came by the next day, it was gone... don't know what happened to it but I think I can guess...

lets not mention names of stores negitively here please
i do find that the store you mentioned is not the greatest for taking care of their stock!
one stoere i find to be far above the vast majority of stores is super pet! they take good care of their animals and provide enough space for them to live comfortabley! i also find their knogledge to be good, not much that a website wouldnt tell you!
Let's not mention names of stores positively here please...
Seriously, how do the mods feel about this? A bad experience with a breeder or seeing bad husbandry at a pet shop. You have to be able to inform others of these kind of problems. Thanks.

oh ok
If folks want to carry on private discussions through email, that's their decision, but let's not discuss specific businesses on the message boards, okay?
Yes, web sites get sued for libel all the time and we don't want that happening here.

I couldnt agree more ... having worked at the corporation mention... I was one of the rare people who took care of the reptiles .... most didnt care ..or didnt have the knowledge ..even the managers were seriously lacking knowledge ...and still are ... for some moronic stories...email me ..... some funny ..others just plain dumb
I think all the moderators need to get together and decide what is acceptable and what isnt. I have seen other store names mentioned without editing. It makes me think someone is getting a kickback from certain stores for xxxing out the competition. Recently a poster ripped on a breeder with multiple posts about their terrible service. It was allowed to continue with no editing. I am opposed to any editing but if you are going to do it at least be consistant......
Well I just spent 20 minutes typing up a post about mods and crap, but I decided to erase it and just post this one. All I'm going to say is that with great power comes responsibility (yeah uncle Ben), and most people with power, even a little insignificant ammount, abuse it.
Case closed.

I agree...I don't want this site shut down....There should be no bashing against any store or breeder. But if you have something nice to say....well I don't see how anyone can sue someone over saying something nice....
Well anybody can PM me or e-mail me if they want to know the name.

This is what happens when companys fight back
He lost but if you mess with a powerful chain that makes millions of dollars a year they grab lawyers who will eat you alive and send the webmaster into severe bankruptcy
PetSwarehouse.com Sues Hobbyists
Robert Novak, claimed owner of Petswarehouse.com has filed a 15 million dollar lawsuit against several aquarium hobbyists who have posted critical comments about his business. A special website has been set up by John Benn for contributing to the defense fund, and progress on the case. You can follow discussions about the lawsuit at http://petsforum.com/psw/
if you look at the website it explains more
but he sued because people were compaining of him ripping them off but its very close to the same thing it was in the pet industry
on a message board
Anybody heard of freedom of speech?
Yeah, welcome to communist North America.

no ... freedom of speech yeah ... lible is a different story
it is also different telling one person, and discouraging possible thousands of people for what might have been one isolated incident ...
just be cautious
Well they need to get their priorities straight... people can go out and protest against anything they damn well please... be it abortion, gay rights, anything. But I can't post the name of a petstore?

pet stores are a busness ... abortion and gay pride are choices....
I know it's not completely comparable. But plenty of people have protested against big corporations, like Enron.

Yeah its true...we can be sued..and have been....although each time we ended up not having anything happen to us...knock on wood..but the threat is very real. If you want the name of the store..send a pm...thats the best way.
As for some store names staying up...it just depends on how long it takes the mods to find it...or get a report from members about it. We do the best we can to seek out stuff like that...its not always instant however. There is so many members, so many posts that its very difficult..so sometimes things slide. Its not ideal, but its the best way we can handle the amount of flow the site gets. You have to keep in mind that this is not a full time job for any of us...we are here when we can between personal life and work etc. :)
