What is the difference between a leopard gecko and a fat tailed gecko??? Besides the tail.

They come from different areas
It's like the difference between a coyote and a wolf.
They are completely separate species. They come from different regions, and (especially wild animals) require vastly different different conditions.
They are different colors, and also of slightly different build.

Distribution: Tropical West Africa (Nigeria to Senegal)
Size: 8-9" stv
Scientific name: Eublepharus macularus ( Leopard Gecko )
Distribution: Pakistan and India, desert
Size: 9-11" stv

Yup, Youkai pretty much covered it :) While Leopards & Fat Tails are similar in appearance, they are 2 completely different species. They do however have fairly similar care instructions, other than the fact that fat tails require higher humidity than leos. They can eat the same foods, and be housed in a similar type of setup -- however, they can NOT be housed together, because while care may be similar, it is not exactly the same.
