I got to this website where they auction reptiles.......this guy or girl is selling something that he calls a blood ball python.....is there such a thing? To me it looks like a blood python or a really red columbian boa.....more like a blood python though.......can go here http://www.reptibid.com/cgi-bin/auction/auction.pl?category=b_snake_ballpythons&item=1062115071[/URL]
And tell me what you think???

I looks like a borneo short tail maybe a cross with a blood. Damn expensive though!

I thought so to......I hate it when people confuse me like that.....good thing I have people here who are more experienced as to know what they are looking at.
I have seen pics of a borneo crossed with a ball. I never saw a price on them. They are very cool looking.

Nice misrepresentation....lol  Yup, as Grant said, just a blood, nothing else added ;) Click <a href="http://www.ssnakess.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=23441">here</a> to see a blood x ball hybrid ;)

It's a BorneoXBlood from mine and Invictus' observations.

Yep Grant is right its a pure blood python, no cross would be that red (or look exactly like a pure one). Check my gallery, my blood is exactly like that.

red dragon, what characteristics gives you the impression that it has borneo blood in it?
im asking this as im working on a species identification page on blood pythons for my new website and would like to know your reasoning , and maybe incorporate , something i may have missed, when it comes to ppl identifying the 3 species.
thanks,
Grant

Grant, she was going mostly on my word there. I said blood x borneo because of the black in the tail. I've never seen that on a blood. (Then again, I was never into bloods until about a month ago.) Plus the fact that it was listed as a Borneo Blood.
As for it being borneo blood ball... apparently the owner is just a dolt who thinks any heavy-bodied snake is called a ball python. :)
Bloods typically have black tails (excluding Ivory and Albino).

this is where using the specific latin names for the breedings comes in as necessary
Here's one of my bloods, note the black tail ;)
