In my monitors cage (Dont have one yet, just getting the cage ready) the hottest the basking spot gets is Exactly 144.2F. Is this too hot? He will be just a little guy when i get him/her so im just wondering. The cool spot is in the low 90's. Are the Temps OK?

P.S. Both temps were taken in the substrate. What i mean is, I put the probe in the substrate and took that temp.

I read somewhere that the basking spot should be 120 max. I would suggest keeping it between 115 and 125ish. I have seen this number consistently on different caresheets so i would think that 140 is to hot. As for the cool area it should be kept between 85-100 and at night it should go down to around 70-80. Hope this helped and good luck with your new addition.
Im still waitin on those enclosure pics :)

If you look in my gallery there is a pic of my setup. S/he will be going in one of the bottom two enclosures. They Measure 2'x20"x20".
About the basking spot: I know that there are breeders that keep it between 120-130F, So i was just wondering if 140F was going over board. Im looking for replies from ppl who actually have Savs please!
Thanks,

Most babies savannahs kept at these temps will not live, most who’d do much better without basking in an environment between 80-87f if you’d ad to this a nice basking of 95-120max you’d be the owner of a fast and healthy growing monitor, providing you feed it good and keep the moisture up!
As for care sheets I don’t care what they say, anybody can write one!
