OK. This is for anyone who is interested or has been following my posts on these little guys.

We did a big water change today and while we did that we counted our little guys. We came to a final count of exactly 198 tadpoles! So I guess we were off by a bit when we guessed about 120 in the beginning. Also, I think this would be consindered an enourmous group of tads for one female to have so if anyone knows would you mind letting me know too.

They are doing great and the are now starting to get their green colors on their backs. We are so excited (and shocked by the numbers) that they are doing so well. Unfortunately we were trying a new filter for them yesterday and sadly we lost 2 to the filter. I guess that would have made 200 so that kinda sucks.

Well I will let you guys know how things continue to progress with them.

198 is possible but rare. How old is your female??
Be prepared to lost a lot of them!! Mine started at 120 and they are now juste 19.

I have no idea how old the female is unfortunately.

Repti: Do you have any idea why you lost so many? If you do let me know.

It's natural!! In the wild one out of a hundred will survive.
The one that die will be eaten by the others and that's why you won't know you lost some.
Mine are like frogs now they have their 4 legs but about 7-8 died with their full legs and the tail wasn't dropped. I really don'T know why. If i get one frog that live as an adult i will be very happy as it is my very first experience.

For the female it's sure that older female will lay more eggs. I had 2 clutchs of 2 differents females: one was 120 and the other 86.
A friend of mine had 212 eggs. His female is 3 year old.

Keep us posted on what they are doing
