temperment

I ve been readin on bloods and it says on one of the websites that the black bloods have the best overall temperment. I was wondering if that was true and how is there temperment in general.

I have heard they aren't bad to deal with. I don't have any first hand knowledge though. I have a borneo and he is about the most docile snake I have ever owned. He has never once tried to strike or bite.

I've heard the same, however from my experience/opinion as long as you handle most snakes from young ages their temperament should improve, my blood (year old now) was a terror and used to strike at anything that went past her viv but now after about 3 months steady handling she has calmed down nicely

i have hat my sumartrin for not to long and he has never even attempted to strike! and he eats great! it just depends upon how much you handle them (my blood dosent bite but he dose spray!)

AHHHH Davis!!!!! How are you, man! You finally joined... that's so awesome :D

My black blood python has an awesome temperment. The only time he's nippy is when he's in shed or when he's hungry. So I usually don't handle him during those times. Other than that he's a really cool snake!

I've only handled them on one occassion... Grant's little fire-eyed beauties... and they were great. Didn't even do the typical short-tailed hissy thing. Every blood and borneo I've ever worked with was quite vocal. Not enough of these guys in Canada to make a comparison in temperament based on experience though :(

A buddy of mine has 6 bloods... only one of which won't take your arm off. (They're all fully grown). I guess it varies depending on how much time you spend with them.
