View Full Version : Cricket Growth
I bought 1000 1/4 crix and they seem a bit too small so I was wondering how long it would take to get them about 1/2 or so... maybe smaller.

I would just feed them now because a lot will probly die by the time they get big, but maybe thats just because of the place I buy them at...
Problem is I have a female veiled in a 65 gallon reptarium and you can hardly see them in that thing... and they're too small for me to pinch the legs off and put them in a dish.
Thanks for the reply.

Hey, another Pittsburgher, where in Pittsburgh do you live? Sorry, i dont know about the crickets.
I'm right outside Pittsburgh in McKees Rocks... what about you?
Shouldn't be more than a week or two at the most, they grow very fast. Just make sure they have lots of good food. I use a cricket chow you can buy at pet stores along with green veggies and potato and carrots for moisture and added nutrition. Two people I know that buy in large quantities also line the bottom of the container with guinea pig or rabbit pellets for added food source and both have reported fewer deaths.

Keep them hot (and dry). 85F +++ and they will be 1/2 an inch within a week.

I live near monroeville.
Thanks for all the replies... I was wondering about temps.... thankfully I made the right decision and kept them up in my room where it's warmer.
Chunky... that's cool. I'm probably moving to Elizabeth Twp. soon, isn't that near monroeville?
