I have a baby ball python I got her right out of the egg and have had her for a month now she is a wonderful eater but when she gets the pinkies almost all the way down she will roll over on her back and finish eating it like that ON HER BACK with her head flat on the ground Then she will flip back over and fix her jaws and rub her mouth on the wood hide box then she is back to normal is this weird I am worried that someting may be wrong
thanks

Well Snakes do have to dislocate their jaw to swallow a prey bigger than its Head.. so it IS normal,
and if he feels confortable eating the head upside down.. its his choice !
I wouldnt be alarmed at all :)
BTW Ive moved your thread to the corresponding forum :)

Yes, my baby bp puts herself in all different positions when she is "killing" and swallowing her food. It's probably just the way your snake feels comfortable eating. But if your snake loses it's ability to right itself, thats when you need to worry.

I've seen our BCI do that. Whatever gets the prey down is fine by me. :)

wiered, i dont think it should have trouble eating a pinky...

Yes, same here. If your snake keeps doing that, once its gets older and bigger meals, it might have trouble righting its self back up. An idea you might want is to get a VERY skinny tubberware to where it would be uncomfortable/hard for it to flip in and feed your snake in that a couple of times and maybe it will stop turning like that.
Do you feed it in the cage?

No need to stop the snake from turning. Some snakes just feel better turning and twisting all over the place :p You don't want to try to alter your snakes behaviour and make it uncomfortable like that. Feeding in the cage is best for the snake as well IMHO. A healthy snake, whether it is a 100g hatchling ball or a 150lb burmese python, should have no problems righting itself. I'm fairly sure what they meant was that as long as it can right itself then not to worry, because if a snake cannot right itself its often a symptom of something neurologically wrong... be it from trauma or sickness.
