shedding problems>>

Hello all,
i have an albino burm, he's 2 meters long. I keep him in wood chipps.
Every time he sheds, he sheds in patches. Also i keep a big tupperware with water in his terrarium.
One hour ago i had him to the bath, rubbing his old skin, softly with my nails.
Now he is on my shoulders while i'm writing, clean and fresh.
But what can i do with the shed process?
One thought i made is, when i see his eyes get darker, after one day, i could mist the wood chips to moisten his habitat.
Any ideas?

im no expert with snakes but wouldnt this be a sign that the cage humidity is to low?

For my Bco's I got a large rubbermaid (2X1X1) cut an entry hole above the halfway mark and filled it 1/3 with spagnum I can soak down. I used to add it only when they went blue but they like it so well it became their hide lol. Should help you too (spagnum absorbs hot water much faster than cold for initial wetting). the 2 of them in it at the same time is 16ft of boa.

true, my boa's are in a 6LX3HX2.5D enclosure so I didn't have an issue with room. But at least you know your animal would grow into it :D

My albino burm is 12'+. She sheds pretty well. I have her on cypress mulch. I mist her atleast once a day. During shed time I mist her twice and soak her every other day for a half an hour and she sheds great.

do u have a digiatal thermometer??? i would suggest getting a digital thermometer and puting it in the cage, alot of times the cheap $7-$10 hygrometers dont work well. i use a digital thermometer with my burm that tells you the humidity, air temp. and it has a probe that i put on the basking spot. one like the one i have run 20-30 bux but it is well worth the money.

Take out any hide boxes. Get a big towel and soak it in water. Then lay the towel flat over top of the snakes entire body. When the towel dries out mist the towel with more water. Dont do this for longer than a week, it can cause scale rott but only if left on for a rediculous amount of time. The snake will stay in the towel because he should feel safe in there and he will usually poke his head out of the towel, its kinda funny it looks like a turtle! I usually start this practice once the eyes turn blue.

Thanks very much T.O-SK8TER, i think your proposal is top priority on my burm's next shed.
I wanted something like this you've said, so the wet towel don't come in touch with the wood chips...thanks!
