View Full Version : FBT is sick??
I've got a big problem, when i came back from a trip of 4 days one of my Fire bellied toad had something in her back. Let me explain. It'S like something that get out of her back, between the back legs. This "thing" is like transparant with little red marks, just like blood.
Can someone tell me what this is?
Will she survive??
I'll try to get a picture as soon as possible.

This is a bit confusing.. Was the thing ON her back? Or did it come out like feces? I'm a bit confused. Let us know. ~TR~
could be redleg....................Was it on her back? Or Leg?
Yes, it come out like feces. But the "thing" don't come out, it's stay there.

It's best to get this little one to a qualified herp vet. Red leg is a bacterial infection of the bloodstream, usually caused by Pseudomonas bacteria, that usually produces hemorrhaging, making the legs appear red. That is a fatal condition if left untreated but responds well to antibiotics if caught early enough.
There's also the possibility of a fungal infection and those often respond well to antifungal meds either applied directly to the affected area or dissolved in a bath.
A vet would be able to tell the difference and get the right med for the job. Good luck and let us know how your FBT makes out.
Here are some pics I took today. The quality s*c* s but anyway.
Can someone help me?
I'll see if I can get an appointement at the vet.
